Officer in Fergison goes on twitter rant; calls protesters thugs, threatens to assault AG Holder
A Velda City police officer who has been part of the militarized police apparatus holding down operations on West Florissant Avenue is spreading lies about Ferguson protesters online.
Sergeant Mike Weston, going by the handle "officeranon2" on Twitter, engaged with users of the social-media network about a tear-gas attack by St. Louis County police on protesters in their own back yard on Monday, August 11. In the conversation, a Twitter user wanted to know why police would fire tear gas at people on their own property. Weston tells them it's because protesters were firing guns from their back yard. But that's not true, as evidenced in the video below. 
Daily RFT was in the back yard that was tear-gassed and caught the incident on video. No shots were ever fired anybody in the back yard, and each person had their hands up in protest. Here's that video: Daily RFT contacted the Velda City Police Department, and Weston confirmed the account was his and explained the allegations he made against Ferguson residents who were attacked with tear gas on their own property. "I wasn't spreading misinformation," he said. "There were shots being fired some yards, maybe not this particular one." Weston then admitted that he wasn't in the group of police officers that was marching down the street and firing tear gas into yards. Subject: RE: KSDK phone call Last night, during one of the many recent conflicts in Ferguson, a St. Ann officer had bottles of urine and water thrown on him. The officer then raised his weapon after seeing a gun in the crowd, he continued to scan the area trying to assess the scene. While assessing the scene he asked several people including a member of the media to move. The media person refused to cooperate and in an attempt to keep the public safe, my officer used profanity with the public and told the media person that he was going to kill him if he didn't move. We certainly do not condone the verbiage that was used and the officer will be counseled on his choice of words. The officer is suspended without pay until further investigation. The St. Ann Police Department regrets this unfortunate situation and hopes for a peaceful resolution in Ferguson. Chief Aaron Jimenez St. Ann Police Department

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) — Google released a breakdown of the demographics of its workforce for the first time Wednesday.
Google has struggled to diversity its workforce in a sector dominated by white males, which was evident in the breakdown, showing that 70-percent of their total workers are male, and 61-percent are white. Male workers described as working within Google’s ‘tech’ sector dominated even further, representing 83-percent of those employees. 6 shot, 2 dead in yet another mass shooting in the US

Two men were killed and at least six people injured in shootings across the city Sunday night and early Monday morning, according to police.
About 1 a.m. this morning, police responded to a report of gunfire in the 5400 block of West Haddon Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood, police said. Officers found a 25-year-old man on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to the body, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said. The man, later identified as Lance Stanton, was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Stanton, who lived in the block where he was shot, was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. In a separate fatal shooting, a 46-year-old man was killed about 8:05 p.m. in the West Side's East Garfield Park neighborhood. The man, later identified as Aaron Feazell, was shot multiple times in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue, authorities said. The purported details of Darren Rainey’s last hour are difficult to read.
“I can’t take it no more, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again,’’ he screamed over and over, according to a grievance complaint from a fellow inmate, as Rainey was allegedly locked in a shower with the scalding water turned on full blast. A 50-year-old mentally ill inmate at the Dade Correctional Institution, Rainey was pulled into the locked shower by prison guards as punishment after defecating in his cell and refusing to clean it up, said the fellow inmate, who worked as an orderly. He was left there unattended for more than an hour as the narrow chamber filled with steam and water. When guards finally checked on prisoner 060954, he was on his back and dead. His skin was so burned that it had shriveled from his body, a condition referred to as slippage, according to a medical document involving the death. But nearly two years after Rainey’s death on June 23, 2012, the Miami-Dade medical examiner has yet to complete an autopsy and Miami-Dade police have not charged anyone. The Florida Department of Corrections halted its probe into the matter, saying it could be restarted if the autopsy and police investigation unearth new information.
