The coronavirus math ... I hope I am wrong.

The coronavirus math … I hope I am wrong.

330,000,000 people (US population) x .40 (40 % infection rate … low end) x .03 (3% lethality rate) = 3,960,000 deaths …. my best guess

Again this is subjective on my part.

NY Times, A scientist in 2018 "The threat of pandemic flu is the No. 1 health security concern,"...

... and then Trump fired him. (Because "that Black Guy" started the office to prepare for global
pandemics and then funding was cut for coronavirus vaccine [SARs] too.)

NY Times: For Trump, Coronavirus Proves to Be an Enemy He Can’t Tweet Away

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Defending against criticism of his handling of the coronavirus, President Trump suggested the other day that he could hardly have been expected to be ready for such an unexpected crisis.

“Who would have thought?” he asked during a visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the nerve center for the government’s response to the outbreak. “Who would have thought we would even be having the subject?”

Actually, quite a few people would have thought, and did — including the officials in his own White House who were in charge of preparing for just such a pandemic only to have their office shut down in a reorganization in 2018. “The threat of pandemic flu is the No. 1 health security concern,” one of the officials said the day before that happened two years ago. “Are we ready to respond? I fear the answer is no.”

For a president who lives in the moment, rarely planning too far ahead, the coronavirus has proved to be a leadership challenge he was not prepared for either. The outbreak that has rattled the nation does not respond to Mr. Trump’s favorite instruments of power: It cannot be cowed by Twitter posts, it cannot be shot down by drones, it cannot be overcome by party solidarity, it cannot be overpowered by campaign rally chants.

Election Reforms:

Election Reforms:

Paper Ballots
Longer windows of time to allow for voting
Mail in ballots and on line voting
Make sure all legit votes are counted
Get rid of caucuses
Presidential Elections .... 6 months beginning to end .... soup to nuts .... 2 1/2 years is just too damn long
Get rid of the electoral college
End Gerrymandering
No more voter I.D. laws .... nobody is voting twice
Get rid of interstate cross check
Get rid of electronic voting machines
Severe Penalties for working with foreign governments and or agents in our elections
Stop voter purges .... dead people don't vote .... Well Chicago "back in the day" but let's not talk about that.
Get rid of Citizen's United ... get the dark money out of the system

In 2016 McConnell knew the fix was in ... see Merrick Garland And since Trump was illegally installed in 2016
McConnell has blocked all voting security measures and checks on foreign interference too. Pence, Ryan, McCarthy,
Steve Scalise, Sessions, Manafort, Parscale, Flynn, Gates, and the Trumps also all knew the fixes in.

BTW we have to win the 2020 elections by landslides in order to take out the republican "fudge factor."

And can we have this all done except for the voting by the end of April?

Help please: Anybody know about the story that Trump was told about coronavirus last November?

And then he did nothing about it. If that is true we could win 40 + states this fall.

"They" are scared of Joe Biden .... Fox News this AM 10 seconds

As I was channel surfing from MSNBC (53) up to the weather channel (62) and I hit Fox and
Freaks (55) for a few seconds and they were saying you know that if Liz Warren and Bloomberg
drop out those voters will go to Bernie.

Trump, Russia, Fox, and the GOP were all counting on Bernie being the nominee to get Trump
a 2nd term. Joe is gonna wipe the floor with Trump.

NY Times: China Stopped Its Economy to Tackle Coronavirus. Now the World Suffers.

The virtual shutdown of one of the world’s biggest economies is hurting business around the globe, from multinational firms to truck drivers and tour guides.

If the coronavirus plunges the world into recession, China will be the biggest reason. Economists caution that its shutdown threatens the economies of Japan, South Korea, Europe and even the United States. Huge corporations like Apple, Microsoft, AB InBev and Pfizer have already seen an impact.

Even those warnings understate China’s reach. An economic disaster just four decades ago, China now touches the lives of billions of people around the world. China matters to Mr. Smerling, Chilean farmers, Thai tour guides, Indian automakers, Mongolian truck drivers and countless others who depend on its economic might.

When China stops, they feel it.

The virus, he said, “is going to affect every level of American society.”
