A Gentle Yellow Lab Gives a Neighboring Siberian Husky a Comforting Hug Across a Wooden Fence

https://laughingsquid.com/yellow-labrador-gives-siberian-husky-hug/

A wonderfully sweet yellow Labrador retriever named Messy offered his neighbor, an anxious Siberian husky named Audi, an affectionately comforting hug over the wooden fence. Audi had escaped from his front yard when his human inadvertently left the gate open and immediately ran over to see his reassuring canine friend. Oranit Kittagul, Messy’s human told The Dodo that the two dogs had been communicating with each other for a while, but this was the first time they met face to face.

When he [Audi] feels lonely and cries, I always ask my dog to see and talk to him…My dog just looks from my fence and sometime he barks to [Audi]. I don’t know what they are communicating, but he stops crying. …He ran to my dog and they hugged each other.

Anyone else love Winamp music player ?

http://meggamusic.co.uk/winamp/Winamp_Download.htm (yes it is safe, I promise)

VLC is a very close second for me, but I still love Winamp's ease of use.

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=374929 At that link, they are supposedly going to bring it back totally updated, but... we shall see.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUP: sincere question

Can anyone relate to the quest to find yourself ? I'm 59. You would think at my age, I would know 100% who I am. I think I do, but I have a real sense that there is more to discover and explore. Of course, my conditions (MDD, social anxiety, and the "thin skin issue" ) have really limited me, but I'm slowly but surely making gains in therapy. In December I'm going to start on a MAO inhibitor that my new doctor really thinks will help me immensely.

Enough of my first-world quest. I really hope all of you, and you lurkers, can continue to grow at my age and older. If you're not growing, you're dying, for real.

All the best to our members and lurkers!

Why Coding Is Still The Most Important Job Skill Of The Future

https://www.fastcompany.com/3060883/why-coding-is-the-job-skill-of-the-future-for-everyone

(their headline not mine)

Apart from companies in the technology sector, there are an increasing number of businesses relying on computer code. No wonder that eight of the top 25 jobs this year are tech positions, according to Glassdoor. A software engineer could just as easily find themselves working at Apple, as they could in a hospital, or at an automotive manufacturer.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects that employment specifically for computer programmers will decline 8% to 302,200 positions over the next decade as businesses outsource projects to less expensive contract workers overseas.

However, a new report from Burning Glass, a job market analytics firm, found that there were as many as 7 million job openings in 2015 in occupations that required coding skills. They also found that programming jobs overall are growing 12% faster than the market average.

This last finding is the result of researchers broadening the scope of their analysis to include coding skills across five major job categories:

It always looks like fun, but flying out to LA and hotel, etc would be pretty pricey for me. I might get a virtual ticket.

Adam Schiff Drops Devastating Truth Bomb By Saying Trump-Russia Collusion Is No Longer In Doubt

http://www.politicususa.com/2017/11/01/adam-schiff-drops-chilling-trump-truth-bomb-russia-collusion-longer-doubt.html

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, has kept a measured tone on his committee’s ongoing investigation into Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, but on Wednesday night he didn’t mince words.

According to the key Democrat, collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during last year’s election is no longer up for debate – it’s a fact.

video at link, cannot embed, sorry

Schiff said:

As developments have become more and more public, I think there’s a tendency to look at it in an incremental way and sometimes you ignore the big picture, you miss the big picture. It’s like not seeing your child grow up because you see them every day. If I had told you nine months ago that I believe we would find evidence that the Russian government, through intermediaries, would offer assistance in the form of derogatory information about Hillary Clinton to the very top levels of the Trump campaign, including his son, son-in-law and campaign manager, as what they described as part of the Russian government effort to help Donald Trump, and that the reaction from the campaign is, “We would love that help,” you would say, “You’re crazy, no one is going to be stupid enough to put that in writing.” And yet, that’s exactly what we found. So, sometimes it’s worthwhile to step back and say, “Okay, what do we now know?” And what we now know is pretty damning.

Fistbump: yay or nay ?

I never do the fistbump with anyone. Is it still a thing, or only with people under 40 ? I have no idea.

Remember this faux-stirred-up-controversy about President Obama ?

Oh, I wish that's all we had to worry about Sigh.

Mom Accused Of Driving Minivan With Son And Plastic Pool Tied To Top

facepalm and huge sigh, glad her child is ok.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/mom-drives-pool-son-on-top_us_59f8d84de4b0d1cf6e9114a2

A mother in Wisconsin is facing a felony charge of recklessly endangering safety after she allegedly strapped her 9-year-old son to the top of a minivan on top of a plastic pool.

Amber Schmunk, 28, of Fredonia was charged earlier this month for the September 9 incident, which started after officers received a call reporting a child on top of a vehicle holding down a plastic pool, according to the Ozaukee Press.

A witness later reported seeing Schmunk pull over and take the child off the minivan roof and wedge the pool inside the vehicle before dropping it off at her sister’s house, according to WTMJ TV.

Officers who arrived on scene questioned Schmunk about her son’s alleged wild ride.
