keep_left's JournalThis is very similar to another alt-right campaign that used the "Moon Man" meme.
A few years ago, the alt-right Pepe chuds stole the late-'80s "Mac Tonight" character from McDonald's and turned it into a vehicle for horrifying racism, using the AT&T text-to-speech site to make snappy musical numbers similar to the McDonald's commercials. The chuds replaced most of the McDonald's lyrics ( based on "Mac the Knife" ) with attacks on Jews, "degeneracy", and all the other usual scapegoats for why (((they))) are running the big machine and the chuds are not.

Thanks for the reminder...forgot about that. I *do* remember an interview with Noam Chomsky...
...about the '94 election where he excoriated the "Young Guns" for their vicious attacks not only on their fellow politicians, but also on the poor and powerless and on the concept of civility itself. And old Chomsky isn't known for holding back the attack, so that's really saying something. He found people like Gingrich and DeLay utterly execrable.
Not really too surprising, since Scarborough was part of that "Gingrich wave" of reactionaries...
...elected in the mid-'90s. The 1994 election was really a harbinger of the cold civil war that has since become such a destructive force in American politics. Scarborough is still very conservative, but the evolution in his political views seems to have come with a measure of age and wisdom.
Coca-Cola has been making a number of these weird flavors for a while. I think they're called...
..."Coca-Cola Creations" or something like that. They made a couple of them with celebrities (I had never heard of). The "Starlight" aka "Space" flavor was created because of a NASA report about the chemistry of outer space. Apparently NASA discovered ethyl formate in gas clouds; the chemical is also used as an artificial flavoring (it's found in rum as well as raspberries).
I tried a few of these "Creations" at the local convenience store when filling up my car over the summer, and with the possible exception of "Starlight", which was...interesting, I guess, the others were just pretty strange. It's possible that the sugar versions taste better (I only drink the "zero" Coke products).
Both Don Jr and Emerald Robinson (NewsMax, LindellTV) called Fetterman a "vegetable"...
...on their social media accounts after the news reports of his stroke.
"Sunday Talking About Stuff Show" LOL, that's always been one of my favorites...
...along with the dog and penguin, of course. (They're Blinky and Sparky, I think).
Isn't that picture from the ridiculous "ExploreTalent.com"? There was never a good explanation...
...about what that site even was. It looked like someone's lame attempt at an alt-right LinkedIn. IIRC, that site featured numerous alt-right media "stars": Boebert, MTG, Chanel Rion (OAN), Emerald Robinson (NewsMax, LindellTV), and many others.
Just like something out of a Tom Tomorrow ("This Modern World") cartoon.
See panels 5 and 6.

I was having a similar problem this weekend
As I recall, only the DU masthead showed up. At first, I thought it might be the security add-ons I use on my browser (Firefox 117.0.1, with the NoScript extension and a few others). What browser are you using? Do you run any additional security or script-blocking extensions?

This weekend, the problem resolved itself within a couple of hours with no real changes on my part. It appeared to be a temporary glitch at DU. Everything has been fine for me since then.
I see that Trump is back to using the alt-right dogwhistles, e.g. (((Globalist))).
He knows that they know. What an asshole.
