Best Quote I've heard about trump yet

Trump likes to keep his enemies closer, which is real easy for him when he's his worst enemy

A good one on conway canceling her appearance on sucker carlson

It's going to take time for them to get their stories completely contradictory.

Something I have never heard a black person say

"Blacks had it better before desegregation."
I have heard this from some people, that bigot, fraud and clown Phil Duckcall and his ilk and now the Breitbart financier Mercer has reportedly said the same thing (according to a lawsuit filed against him)

If it was so great before desegregation, how come I never hear anyone who is African-American, Asian, Hispanic, etc echo this sentiment?
You would think if things were so damned, spanking fantastic that there would be a whole slew of people screaming it from the rooftops.

Sounds kind of arrogant (paternalistic) to me.

(Maybe someone here knows someone who has expressed that sentiment)

Moon Jae-in was the second most liberal candidate on the ballot. He was expected to win following the faltering by Ahn Cheol-soo (considered the center-left candidate, but in my opinion the opportunist candidate)

Polls closed at 8pm local. As of 7:00, 75% of registered voters had voted

Sen. Jill Tokuda To Be Ousted As Ways And Means Chair

State Sen. Jill Tokuda is being forced out of her position as head of the powerful money committee in the midst of 11th-hour debate over funding for the Honolulu rail project.

Tokuda told Civil Beat on Wednesday evening a resolution would be introduced on the Senate floor to remove her from from her position as chairwoman of the Ways and Means Committee.

When asked why she is being removed, Tokuda said, “I took a really hardline stance in terms of not wanting to extend the general excise tax for any long period of time,” for the rail project. “When the bill came out of my committee, it required only the skim being returned to the city.”

Happy Buddha's Birthday and Golden Week

If you're a Buddhist, today is April 8th on the Lunar Calendar, so Happy Buddha's Birthday
For both Japan and Korea, the week is kind of a shut down week as Children's Day is this Friday May 5th.
In Japan, this is referred to ask Golden Week. Many people took the whole week off and many schools did as well.
In Korea, it's Wednesday to Sunday no work or school either. Though some took off Monday and Tuesday as well

China's first androgynous all-girl pop band challenges ideal of femininity

China's all-girl "boy band", FFC-Acrush, had more than 749,000 followers on social networking site Weibo even before any of their music was released.

Sporting short bobs, loose T-shirts and barely there makeup, Acrush's androgynous look is bucking centuries-old norms in a society where girls strive to look feminine and act demurely.

Marketed by sports brand Fantasy Football Confederation (FFC), the five women - aged 18 to 24 - held their first news conference in Beijing on Friday as their first single "Action" was released.

"We want the girls to break the mould," the band's agent, Zhou Xiaobai, told Reuters.

The letter 'A' in the band's name is a reference to the god Adonis - the archetype of youthful male beauty in Greek mythology.

Priebus, Hair Douchengroper and his minions are concerned about press lies

per Priebus "But when you have articles out there that have no basis or fact and we're sitting here on 24-7 cable companies writing stories..."

Kind of like...
the bs stories about Obama being from Kenya.
or the bs stories about his birth certificate
or the bs stories about Hilary Clinton being medically unfit because of some phantom seizure
or the bs stories about Obama being a closet Muslim (or for the freeper trolls... Muslin)

I didn't hear fucking squat of outrage from PR BS Reince about any of that.
So fuck off Reinceid

Called Senator Enzi's office today to provide my 'unwavering support'

Senator Enzi told a group of middle school and high schools “We always say that in Wyoming you can be just about anything you want to be, as long as you don’t push it in somebody’s face,” and then went on some sort of tangent about guys wearing tutus in bars. Something I was unaware of that must happen often in Wyoming or something

Anyway, I talked to this very nice woman in his office and told her, "I for one wish to let the senator know of my unwavering support for what the senator said. I am in 100% agreement with him."

She thanked me.

Then I said, "I for one am sick and tired of people thrusting stuff in my face in public when I just want to be left alone. I cannot tell you the number of times I've been some place and there are people with their big printed shirts and their signs telling us how much they love Jesus and how we need to repent, or some other religious thingy. Talk about invasive. I've been on subway trains and buses and stuff and some person begins preaching to all there about his or her faith in God and how we're all going to hell if we don't repent. It's about time someone said what most of us think and that's 'You can be just about anything as long as you don't push it in my face."

She then told me Enzi believes in people having a right to their faith and doesn't find them at all intrusive and hung up on me.
