my mom's mom and my da's da came in the coffin ships. in the belly of a white star ocean liner.
this song is for them. it's a bit of a stretch of the timeline to jfk in the white house, but my mom shook his hand when his motorcade came down our street in my small town on a swing through illinois.
i know this music is supposed to be the old oldies. and i know most folks dont want to sing about the troubles. but much has happened in the last 100 yrs worth remembering.

so, the one rocker in the band does a lot of lyle lovett.
he doesnt know the irish tunes, but he's a pretty good singer so we're kicking around what i might know. i have listened to some lyle but not a lot.
i know this album, but i dont remember this song. it's cracking me up cuz if you lined up my 2 hubs' 4 wives, no one could pick out one that wasnt a sister. all irish girls.

so i've watched most of the jt vids on yt. i'm obsessed w his voice. w the NUANCE he puts on it when he's on. but so many live performances disappoint.
either he phones it in, or he's tweaked and he's twisting and pounding and breaking strings.
but right here, he brings it all. he's in a good place, sober, happy.

i have an announcement.
sept 28 i make my comedy debut.
i have a dear friend w a monologue group called loose chicks. they've been off since the plague.
she told me a while back that when she gets back, she'll give me a spot.
i've been trying to convince her that loose chicks on the farm cant miss.
well, i finally sold her. we picked a date. now for the work.
i'm sure i have no idea how much work it will be, but i've done lots of events. i think i can hack it.
i plan to tell the story of the beginnings of my farm. i have a few newer neighbors that havent heard it. talked to 1 couple who are def interested.
the only hard part will be whittling it down to 10 min. i can tell that off the cuff, but not in 10 minutes.
so, sucking at something new once again. and it's only been a month since i sang in public for the 1st time. it usually takes me a decade.
ok, i'd like to propose a new word-
trollingship. definitely not a relationship, so stop saying that. it consists of many trolling messages w the occasional romantic interlude.
does that work?

just watched this michael beschloss on jonathan capehearts show-
i would love to see joe write a nice long op ed about this, and then go on the teevee, and name names and point fingers and explain it like he's the sub in a special needs kindergarten class.
define for the idiots little things like scapegoating, lies, CORRUPTION, and inciting violence.
then hand the mic to beschloss. then meachum.
if they're rly smart, they'll line up a bunch of top tier experts ready to go on the teevee news.
there MUST be some plain talk before nov.
