Have you heard this?

What/Who is behind this?

Isn't fighting 'revenge porn' a super 'good thing'?!?

Sunday Houston Chronicle series Abuse of Faith---100s of children abused by SouthernBaptist leaders

Promo available at Bob Felton's blog--bobfelton.com

A major series investigating the Southern Baptist Convention.

One of Billy Grahsm's grandsons was a lawyer working for the FL atty general's office, specializing in child abuse cases. He later organized a group dedicated to investigating abuse claims in Evangelical churches and organizations. They were called in to investigate Bob Jones U history of mishandling, covering up claims of sexual assault. As they were finishing up their investigation, the U's admin abruptly fired them.

The leader of the investigative organization has said that the abuse in all types of protestant churches/ministries/organizations is at least as bad as what has been learned about abuse within the Roman Catholic Church.

The problem with a good novel? You enjoy rereading it, bit you remember the end

So the enjoyment is muted.

With a really great novel, like one by Jane Austin or by Dickens, the writing is so excellent each remembered step of the plot is a pleasure to reread.

VA Senate majority leader(R) was 68 editor of VMI yearbook filled with blackface, racialslurs etc

Recent story on rawstory.

VA a real mess in past. They really seem to be improving over the last few years.

We whites in all parts of US need to take a clear-eyed view of our past.

At least today--if we want to--we can hear blacks telling us honestly about their experiences.

I grew up in segregated OK and went to a segregated college in TX. I never talked on relatively equal terms with a black person until I had a black colleague in grad school. The 1st time I actually had something close to a possible black friend was when as a young mother in the eatly 70s I got to know a young black mother living in the same neighborhood.

She told me about how she was followed when she went shopping in our small IA college town. That was the 1st time I learned that blacks had to put up with such things. It really hit me how insulated I had been!

When were the 1st concerns about cyber warfare raised? During W's admin? Earlier? Later?

IIRC there were attempts by Obama admin to get something done about defense, but the reply was 'crickets'!!

In 90s?? wasn't there a MO Gov running for Senate when pics of him in blackface surfaced??

IIRC he was a dem and was killed in an accident before the election. His wife was able to run (don't recall how that worked) and she became senator. Or was it--oh, look stupid dems elect dead guy----and his wife was appointed to the senate seat he had won?

He was being attacked for his blackface past, and then his death sorta cancelled that out.

IIRC he and his friends did a minstrel type thing in college,

Is my memory anywhere close. Or is this another senior moment for me?

'I'm going to leave old Texas now, they've got no use for the long-horned cow.----'

Did you sing this as a kid at camp?

Remember how much fun all the verses were?

Remember how department stores, other buildings had elevator operators?

And between floors the operator sat on a little pull-down seat.

Didn't they call out each floor as the elevator came to it?

The operator was usually a middle-aged woman, white or black.

Ever read any books by Tim Heald? Just discovered him--looks like his books might be interesting

Read about him in Wiki.

He died from the same disease Robin William's had. Have to admit I couldn't read about that then. The disease sounds pretty horrible.
