Kyle Rittenhouse has fired controversial civil lawyer John Pierce
Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
The controversial lawyer who has been promoting Kyle Rittenhouse's case in the media and soliciting money for his defense has parted ways with the young homicide defendant, according to court records and Twitter.
Freekyleusa.com tweeted that it has a new lawyer and new trust set up to handle donations for Rittenhouse's benefit.

John Pierce, who had been Rittenhouse's lawyer, did not reply to a direct message on Twitter earlier, but did tweet late Thursday:
Pierce, a Los Angles litigator, was the first name announced by Lin Wood, a high-profile Atlanta attorney who was later caught up in challenging the presidential election, as leading Rittenhouse's defense.

MTG seems to be losing her QANON fanbase.....
She just basically disavowed Q, sooooo yeah. I got a bad feeling about her the last 2 days when shes been cyber begging to save her spot on these committees. She did over $150,000 both days according to her gab and ig. When I saw that, to me, shes just as bad as the rest of them. Get into office, dont care about the people, and fundraise from day 1 to keep your coffers full for the next campaign run. I said to my buddy, shes the only one still waiving the MAGA flag but I was concerned about the sincerity of it. Its a good way to build a big base thats begging for leadership and shell probably use it as a catapult to a presidential race. I was really disappointed in her saying the q movement is dangerous. She lost a fan and social media follower in me today

Rudy Giuliani lashes out at his employer, WABC, for adding a legal disclaimer to his radio show
Source: Media Matters
ANNOUNCER: The views, assumptions, and opinions expressed by former U.S. attorney, former attorney to the president of the United States, and New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, his guests, and callers on his program are strictly their own and do not necessarily represent the opinions, beliefs, or policies of WABC radio, its owner, Red Apple Group, and other WABC hosts or our advertisers.

RUDY GIULIANI (HOST): I would have thought they would have told me about that before just doing what they just did. Rather insulting. And gives you a sense of how far this free speech thing has gone and how they frighten everybody. I mean we're in America, we're not in East Germany. They've got to warn you about me? I'm going to have to give that a lot of consideration. I also think putting it on without telling me, not the right thing to do, not the right thing to do at all.

Senate begins debate over budget bill to pass Biden economic relief plan
Source: Washington Post
The Senate plunged into rancorous debate Thursday over a budget bill paving the way for passage of President Bidens $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, with Republicans denouncing Democrats go-it-alone approach and insisting the spending is excessive.
Democrats and Biden administration officials countered that the moment has arrived to act quickly on legislation to boost the economy, help improve vaccine distribution and finally curb a pandemic that surged out of control under former president Donald Trump. Despite Bidens campaign promises of unity and bipartisanship, Democrats appeared ready to leave Republicans behind.
The costs of inaction are incredibly steep, incredibly lasting. We have to balance the cost of the plan against the cost of inaction, said Jared Bernstein, a member of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, at a Washington Post Live event, saying delay could mean 4 million fewer jobs in the United States this year. The cost of inaction is the reason for our urgency.
The House passed the budget legislation on Wednesday, with all Republicans opposed. Under the Senates arcane rules, debate on the budget resolution in the Senate will trigger a freewheeling amendment process known as a vote-a-rama that begins Thursday afternoon and could last overnight into Friday morning, since there is no limit on amendments.

David Hogg launching competitor to Mike Lindell's MyPillow
Source: Axios
March for Our Lives co-founder David Hogg tweeted on Thursday that he and software developer William LeGate are launching a pillow company to compete against MyPillow, which is led by Trump supporter CEO Mike Lindell.
...snip...
Details... Hogg wrote that he and LeGate hope to "sell $1 million of product within our first year" and to launch in about six months.
"[W]e would like to do it sooner but we have strict guidelines on sustainability and [U.S.] based Union producers," Hogg added.
"Mike isn't going to know what hit himthis pillow fight is just getting started."

Just came across this story from last year; Myers was my Congressman when I was in college; lost in 1980 (post-ABSCAM) to Tom Foglietta, a Republican who ran as an Independent and then became a Democrat.
A congressman caught in the 1970s Abscam sting is now at the heart of a Philly election fraud probe
Philadelphia InquirerA central question lingered after federal authorities last week disclosed that a South Philadelphia poll worker had admitted taking bribes to stuff ballot boxes in local elections:
Who was the unnamed campaign Consultant #1 described in court filings as the man who paid Domenick DeMuro, 73, to inflate vote totals on behalf of favored candidates between 2014 and 2016?
Prosecutors have declined to say. But two sources briefed on the matter and an Inquirer analysis of campaign finance data and court filings in DeMuros case point to one man: former U.S. Rep. Michael Ozzie Myers.
A key figure in the Abscam scandal of the 1970s, Myers represented Pennsylvanias 1st Congressional District between 1976 and 1980 a career that ended with a three-year prison sentence for bribery and a vote by his House colleagues to expel him. He is best known, though, for one of the most enduring lines to emerge from that sting operation, which involved undercover FBI agents posing as representatives of an Arab sheikh offering bribes in exchange for political favors.
