Aristus
Aristus's JournalFriday Night Vodka-Buzz. I'm on my second Moscow Mule. Nobody flirt with me.
My inhibitions are not up to snuff...
What's a good website for up-to-the-minute coverage of Election Day?
Please no right-wing sites.
Mrs. Aristus, the Republican, posted her ballot tonight with a vote for Hillary Clinton.
A staunch Eisenhower-style Republican, she voted for Hillary without a qualm. She then researched Washington State Republicans on the ballot to see if they publicly supported Trump, and voted against every one who did.
She voted against Governor Jay Inslee because his opponent, Bill Somebody, opposed Trump's candidacy. I suppose that was his only virtue. I'm pretty sure Inslee will be re-elected, so I'm cool with that.
My son-in-law allowed my nine year-old granddaughter fill in 'Clinton-Kaine' on his ballot.
That was wonderful. He wanted her to have the experience of "voting" for a female candidate. A full nine years before she will legally be allowed to vote.
Anybody remember Park Overall?
The sassy Southern nurse on Empty Nest ?
I had a huge crush on her back in the 80's.
And it turns out: she's a liberal! She's a Hillary Clinton supporter, and an outspoken environmental activist, and advocate for women's rights!
Now I love her even more!...
Does anyone know how I can block types of pages from my Facebook feed?
I know how to block specific pages, by entering their names in my 'Block' settings. But how to block types of pages?
For some reason, I'm getting flooded with notices to join pages under the category of 'buy, sell, and trade'. I've never even searched for pages like that, and I'm constantly having to click the delete 'x' on them.
Help?
Glad to hear that the 'new e-mails' thing is just much ado.
Because today has been a bad day for progressives otherwise...
I just filled out my ballot for Clinton/Kaine!
Just have to drop it in the box by the public library tomorrow and it will be done! I will have voted for the first time for a female candidate for President!
Assholes support Trump. We all know that. What I don't understand are the decent people who do.
My beloved 3rd Grade teacher, with whom I still stay in contact after 40 years, is a Trump supporter. In any other respect, you would not meet a more decent, kind, loving, generous woman in your life.
But when it comes to Trump, she thinks he's some kind of godsend. She's in her late 60's or early 70's; far too young to be suffering from advanced dementia; certainly not when all her other cognitive faculties seem to be at 100%.
I loved her dearly when I was in 3rd Grade. And I still have a great deal of affection for her. I just can't figure out this one aberration in her personality. She's from Kentucky. But hell, one of the nurse practitioners I work with is from Kentucky, and she's as liberal as I am.
