I lost count of the number of American flags behind Kamala Harris during her speech.

I get so tired of having to pander to the armchair warriors and pseudo-patriots who would throw a fit if the American flag wasn't on prominent display.

Hell, the organizers of her acceptance speech probably threw in multiple flags just so some toothless Deliverance types wouldn't scream and yell. "They's on'y got theyselves ONE flag!!! That meens they HATE Amurika!!!"

Joe Biden is the fourth man to appear on a major party ticket with a woman.

And the first to appear with two different people of color.

It's time to make history...

I often set up some music to listen to while working on the computer. I leave YouTube open in a separate window. Occasionally, the music will stop. I'll click on to the YouTube window to see what's up.

There will be a window with the question: "Still Listening? Yes - No"

How annoying. Are they trying to make sure my eyes are still in view of the advertising?

Stop saying (or believing) that virologists are going to push an unsafe, ineffective vaccine.

Trump can bleat whatever he wants, and usually does. He has a dim understanding of electoral politics.

But the people who are doing the heavy lifting of producing a vaccine against COVID-19 aren't concerned with politics. They are tasked with the science of creating an immunization. They understand, as should we but we don't, that science doesn't care about politics, or society, or public perception. When it comes to science, it is, as Trump dismissively blithered, what it is.

If Trump says a safe and effective vaccine is available, distrust him with every fiber of your being.

If a credentialed, experienced, qualified virologist and/or immunologist says a safe and effective vaccine is available, you would be right to trust him/her.

And if you're spewing "vaccines are an evil plot to make us all trackable autism patients", kindly shut the front door...
