If Joe Biden wins the election, one thing I'm looking forward to:

Forgetting that he is President.

You probably already know what I mean. But basically, I can't go a single day without being reminded that Donald Trump is President. Not a single day without hearing about his latest lie, his latest whining tweet, the Greco-Roman wrestling match with the English language, the sleaze, the reactionary, ham-fisted approach to being President, his litter of spoiled, diseased, puffed-up adult-baby-children, the blissfully vapid Barbie Doll of a wife, the whole ball of wax.

Even when Barack Obama, whom I admire immensely, was President, there were days when I could forget he was President, and just enjoy life in what seemed to be a shining new era.

I want that with President Biden.

Please God, let him win the election; and let us do everything in our power to make it happen...

Just recorded my first-ever cop-stop.

A couple of uniforms from Tacoma Police Department stopped a guy on the sidewalk right outside the clinic. They did the loudspeaker thing: "Lay down on the ground, face down, and don't move!"

As soon as I heard that, I grabbed my phone and started recording. The cops snatched up a bag the man had been carrying; I guess they thought it was stolen goods. A backup vehicle pulled up, and they all got out and conferred for a while. I recorded them just in case they decided to mistreat him. They huddled around, talking, laughing, and yawning as if they had all the time in the world, while the poor guy lay down on the sidewalk.

After about fifteen minutes, they gave him his bag back and let him go.

I hope they saw me through the clinic window, recording them. In times like this, we have to police the police.

You should see some of the nutballs who are running in the Washington statewide primary.

Just got the voters guide today. I was reading it over. Of course I crossed out all of the right-wing candidates, and there were many of them, Republican, Libertarian, Constitutional Party candidates, and even candidates for what they're calling the "Trump Republican Party", and those are the real whackjobs.

Each candidate is allotted half a page to introduce him or herself to the voters, with columns on background, education, experience, community service, etc.

One guy in the Trump Republican Party filled in each paragraph with "End Seattle/Fascist Evil!End Seattle/Fascist Evil!..." over and over and over again, like Jack Nicholson typing "All Work And No Play Make Jack A Dull Boy" on hundreds of pages in 'The Shining'.

I had to read over the pages for any offices for which there was more than one Democratic candidate. I circled the ones whose ideology came closest to mine.

So many of the bios included some variation of the statement: "I am not a politician!" which is just about as stupid a thing to say as one could say. I want to tell them: "Dude, you're running for public office; you're a politician."

Friday Night Indica Buzz. Ask me anything.

How is everyone in the Lounge tonight?

Crazy day, personally and nationally.

I just want to forget and drift a bit...

I was just looking over the problem list on a patient's chart. I read 'Need For Vaccination.'

For a second, I thought it said 'Need For Vacation'.

I thought: I can relate.

I can relate...

Friday Night Indica-Buzz. Ask me anything.

I'm giving up alcohol for a while until I get my pre-COVID-19 body back. I've been doing home-workouts, and going to the gym when they have social-distanced team workouts.

Indica doesn't have the quick rush of a couple of shots of vodka, but it's a good way to get buzzed without the calories...

Just picked up a few items for the office in a rough neighborhood in Tacoma.

In-store mask policy strictly enforced. And everyone was complying.

The rich, white assholes of America are screaming, spewing, and bleating about their 'right' not to wear a mask. Or whimpering that they can't breathe with a mask on.

Meanwhile, the people for whom everyday life is a struggle for survival are masking up without complaint. They know what's really important. These are my people...
