The goal is to defeat Donald Trump and the Republicans.

I like Tim Ryan for VP but when he is mentioned, there is a chorus of "Nays". People have that right. Perhaps they think Ryan would not help with the blue-collar voters. After all, he lost to Vance in Ohio already, they say. But, that was a different time and Vance was much more of an unknown quantity. I don't know that he would beat Ryan again?

But the goal is to win the Presidency. We want a VP that will add to the ticket, not subtract from the ticket. That is a difficult problem to resolve. We need a VP that will make Kamala's job easier, not harder. Perhaps Ryan has a "loser" label already attached and he would be a negative on the ticket? I don't know. I think he would be a good choice.

Mostly we need an attack dog, in my opinion. These are not civilized people we are going up against. They are weird. It is questionable whether or not they even love this country. Whomever is chosen as her VP, I hope he or she is a fighter.

My second choice for VP would be Admiral Wm McRaven, the guy that led the assault on bin Laden's compound. He would add a ton of gravitas to any ticket, in my opinion.

My third choice would be Gretchen Whitmer, the Governor of Michigan. She is a bad ass and if we are going to have a woman president, why not a woman VP? It would get out the women's vote more than any ther ticket, in my opinion. And it is women's freedom that is being taken away if Trump and the Republicans win.

If Buttigieg is the VP choice, how would the Republicans attack him?

Keeping in mind, they will attack whomever is the choice.

We all know Pete's positives. What are his negatives that the Republicans will exploit?

Republicans are like the little boy that cried "Wolf!"

They only have one strategy, name-calling and ridicule.

People know their game. They have nothing else.

At one time, the immigration issue was something that worked for them, however fabricated. Then after the Democrats and Republicans worked out a very good bi-partisan compromise, Trump shot it down. He ordered the Republicans not to vote for it, because he wanted it for a political issue.

Now, all they have left are personal attacks. And those are very old with most Americans. Even some of their loyal MAGA supporters are smart enough to see what they are doing. It's just not as funny anymore.

But, in a few days, they will be steaming about the verdict of Judge Merchan, in my opinion. He will actually sentence the "convicted felon".

Republicans, looking for an excuse, are claiming that Kamala took over in a "coup".

Strange, their idea of a "coup". That they would think a democratic process, such as Joe stepping down and Kamala winning the delegates needed for nomination, was some sort of "coup", but the attack on our Capitol and the attempt to stop the vote count of the Electoral College is never mentioned as a "coup" at all.

It is very telling that they even bring up the word. They know what it means and they know what January 6th means. They just don't want to admit it in polite company.

"He's not from here.."

Paraphrasing Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky.

JD Vance tries to claim some sort of Appalachian connection because of the book he wrote, Hillbilly Elegy.

Once that fact becomes common knowledge, JD Vance will not be popular in a large swath of this country, in my opinion. That would include parts of SE Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and parts of western Pennsylvania.

What may have happened with the Vance choice for VP?

It is my understanding that Shady Vance is close friends with Peter Thiel, a fellow venture capitalist.

Also, Thiel reportedly had a former business relationship with Elon Musk. Musk was CEO of PayPal at one time.

In my opinion, Musk promised Trump $45 million dollars a month for three months, or until the election, to choose JD Vance as his VP. Trump thought it was a serious deal.

But after he chose Vance as his VP, Elon Musk backed out of the deal. I think Musk considers himself the heir apparent to take over the MAGA movement after Trump is in jail or dead.

Trump must have been pissed to the max?

Just my own little theory of what might have happened to get Trump to choose Shady Vance as his VP?

A Song For Kamala

July 25, 2024

I heard a local newscaster say that Trump "criticized" Harris in his speech....

My thought was that he didn't "criticize" her.

He insulted her and he slandered her.

There is a difference.

He is an old, weird, and despicable person.
