Republicans are very good at minimizing their crimes...

..and exaggerating their opponents.

Stealing top secret documents is not as bad as Hillary deleting non-classified info from her email. (Although they did re-classify 6 emails as "Confidential" after the fact)

A violent attack upon the Capitol Police and halting the count of the Electoral Votes was no big deal. It was legitimate public protest.

Threatening and extorting state officials to commit election fraud is not even worth mentioning.

Attempting to overthrow the government is not even a misdemeanor.

Treason is not a crime if a Republican does it.

President Richard Nixon toured Mar-a-Lago on an impromptu visit in the summer of 1974. That was a month before he resigned the presidency – which happened 48 years ago today on Aug. 9, 1974.

At the time, the former estate of Marjorie Merriweather Post was in the possession of the U.S. government, which had inherited the property from the General Foods heiress. Post had hoped the sprawling estate would become a sort of southern Camp David.

That, according to White House records from 1974, was the reason for Nixon's brief visit. The entry in Nixon's daily diary for that date, July 7, 1974, said the president "looked over the property to determine its potential for possible use by U.S. presidents for visiting foreign dignitaries."

How do we know that Trump did not deliver secrets to the Saudis at his Golf Tournament...?

We don't know for sure. We only know they are capable of it.

We have known for some time that the Saudis have wanted nuclear technology and that Trump and the Russians were willing to help them with their effort. Several people were going to get paid a big bunch of money. It appears that Jared may have already got his?

Whatever you can imagine, these crooks are capable of doing.

The "Cult" is so pitiful...

They refuse to educate themselves. They operate mostly on Pavlovian instincts. At the first criticism of Donald Trump, they head for their wardrobe closet. They look for their hats, their red, white, and blue attire, and their huge Trump flag. They are ready to defend him.

They don't even know what he is being criticized for - it doesn't matter. He is their Leader. No one else can be trusted or believed.

It's sad. Such simple marks for a professional con. They are ready to take food out of their children's mouth and give all their money to the "Cult" Leader. He was sent by God. That is what they believe.

They are pitiful. They are our friends and family. If you do not see what they see, then it is because you have the Trump Derangement Syndrome.

They are being persecuted by the liberals. Donald Trump is the only one that can save this country.

If there were national security secrets at Mar-A-Lago...?

Why did they wait so long to get a search warrant and seize them?

Did they trust Trump with the documents?

If not, did someone go to sleep on the job?

It seems to me that it should not have taken two years to seize the documents?

Which leads to the question: How safe is our nation?

How competent are the people that are supposed to guard our secrets?

I think all the Trump supporters should go down to Mar-a-Lago and protest...

They should call in all their militia friends, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers, and bring their huge flags, to show support for their leader, and they should surround the compound. They should prevent anybody from coming into the place.

Maybe they should take some of their "best" people and put them inside the palace to protect it from the government. Maybe smear a little feces on the golden walls? They should have no problem over-running the Secret Service detail. They should take it over until their Leader can make it back down to Florida.

Those documents belong to the American people. They belong to you and I.

It is the law.

Either you follow the law or you break the law. There is no middle ground on this issue.

He was told to turn the documents over and he refused. The FBI had no choice but to go into his basement and seize "our" documents.

That is basically the story.

The FBI called the Secret Service at Mar-a-Lago hours ahead of the search warrant...

...and Trump's lawyers were there to oversee the search?

Is that true?

I saw that reported on one of the morning shows but I cannot recall which show?

So Trump knew about the "raid" before it happened?

Did they have time to remove or get rid of any of the evidence before the search?

Is that common procedure by the FBI to notify the target ahead of time?

Also, it was reported that the DOJ lawyers went to Mar-a-Lago in June to negotiate the release of the documents and have had no success. And this left them no choice but to execute the search warrant?

So, it appears there were documents there and the FBI went in and confiscated them?

Is the search warrant tonight the precursor to the indictment that's coming very soon?

The removal of classified documents from the White House is a very serious crime. Trump knew it was serious when he did it. The DOJ has this ace in the hole whenever they decide to indict Trump for his role in the January 6th insurrection and the electoral fraud in several states.

It is possible they did the search warrant today because they are getting very close to indicting Donald Trump. The stealing of classified documents is a lock for a conviction in this situation.

The search warrant today was just the first step in the case against Donald J Trump. Still to come are the charges of electoral fraud, obstructing an official government proceeding, inciting an insurrection, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

The charges against Trump and his criminal cabal are being turned over stone by stone. In my opinion, the indictment will be coming soon.
