Johnson’s remarks late Tuesday morning came at the exact same time Stormy Daniels was giving sworn testimony about her alleged sexual relationship with Trump in a Manhattan Superi ...

Democrats call Mike Johnson's bluff on campus antisemitism

(Axios) House Democrats are challenging House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to put his money where his mouth is when it comes to cracking down on campus antisemitism, Axios has learned. House Republicans held a vote on an antisemitism bill last week that Democrats complained was inadequate to address the issue and geared toward dividing the left. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) is introducing another bill, first obtained by Axios, to provide $280 million to the Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights.

Money isn't enough to smooth the path for Republican candidates hoping to retake the Senate

(AP) Frustrated by the seemingly endless cash flowing to Democrats, Republicans aiming to retake the Senate have rallied around candidates with plenty of their own money. The goal is to neutralize Democrats' roughly 2-to-1 financial advantage, among the few bright spots for a party defending twice as many Senate seats as Republicans this year. But it also risks elevating untested candidates who might not be prepared for the scrutiny often associated with fiercely contested Senate campaigns.

Greene won't move against Johnson just yet

(Roll Call) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene will not move to oust Speaker Mike Johnson Monday night and will instead continue to talk with him following a nearly two-hour meeting between the two and Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., earlier in the day. With House Democratic leadership vowing to vote to table Greene’s motion, it appears unlikely that Johnson is in any real danger of the fate that befell former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., at least for now.
