so debbie when are you going to set the debate schedule?

The Republicans already have several scheduled. When you go to the Democratic page it has a few dates and locations, but the dates are just months not specific dates, and all of them have an asterisk next to them saying that the date (or month rather) is tentative. so they can't even commit to a specific month?

i am sick of ws dragging her feet. come up with the damn schedule already.

it is about setting this country on the right path for the future and to right the wrongs of massive inequality. The sooner people know where the candidates stand, the sooner they can make their decisions. Republicans have set the schedule up and they have a lot more candidates to deal with. The Democrats have five major candidates. This foot dragging is getting ridiculous.

Those start on February 1st. A little over 6 months from now.

In 2007 primaries we already had 4 debates by this time with the next one on the 23rd of July .

Debates give ALL the Democrats and the Democratic message exposure to the public at large who don't get as much information as those of us on the political forums where we debate every day.

The GOP has a debate planned at a liberal college in Colorado to get exposure for it's candidates to try and influence the left leaning views.

If someone does run despite these efforts, they will have popular democrats campaign in the primary against them. And if that still doesn't work, it's time for whisper campaigns or other sabotage in the general election.

It is very important to not let liberals run in these elections. Otherwise, Third Way's primary reason for existing ("Only we can win elections&quot falls apart.

One Democratic 2016 campaign adviser who spoke to Business Insider said they believe the Democratic National Committee’s debate schedule was “worked out” to benefit Hillary Clinton and hurt her opponents.

The adviser, who requested anonymity in order to speak frankly about the party’s campaign arm, suggested the DNC is hosting a small number of debates in an attempt to give Clinton’s more low profile rivals “less screen time.” They also suggested the relatively late schedule of the debates will make it harder for Clinton’s lesser known rivals to introduce themselves to voters.

Read more at http://www.businessinsider.my/clinton-rival-dnc-rigged-debate-schedule-to-help-hillary-2015-5/#uk6ZOzciLhxBWuVz.99

It's starting to look like the DNC has an agenda here! What is the DNC afraid of? Are they afraid that if Hillary Clinton has to go on stage and debate the other candidates that her support might fall? Are they trying to make sure that what happened to the inevitable Hillary Clinton in 2008 by Obama doesn't happen again in 2016? It certainly starting to appear that way!

With the time necessary to schedule debates, find venues, obtain news organizations to cover those debates, it may be months before we see our first real debate. Using the RNC's announcement that came nearly 3 months before their August 6th debate, we may be waiting until the end of October before we see the first Democratic debate.

Our voters deserve better than this. We deserve an opportunity to get to know our candidates, hear what they have to say, debate and defend their positions against the other candidates so, we the voters, can make an informed decision on which candidate we think is best to represent us. It appears the DNC wants to inhibit our ability to make that determination.

All three had won their local Democratic Primaries, and were challenging Hard Core Republican incumbents with whom Wasserman-Schultz had become cozy.
Not only did the head of the DCCC Red to Blue Program REFUSE to endorse these Democratic challengers,
but she appeared in person at at least one (possibly more) Campaign/Fundraiser for their Republican opponents.

FL-18, FL-21, FL-25: Wasserman Schultz Wants Dem Challengers to Lose

<snip>

Sensing a shift in the political climate of the traditionally solid-GOP turf of the Miami area, Democrats have lined up three strong challengers -- Miami-Dade Democratic Party chair Joe Garcia, former Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez, and businesswoman Annette Taddeo to take on Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, respectively.

While there is an enormous sense of excitement and optimism surrounding these candidacies, some Democratic lawmakers, including Florida Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Kendrick Meek, are all too eager to kneecap these Democratic challengers right out of the starting gate in the spirit of "comity" and "bipartisan cooperation" with their Republican colleagues:

But as three Miami Democrats look to unseat three of her South Florida Republican colleagues, Wasserman Schultz is staying on the sidelines. So is Rep. Kendrick Meek, a Miami Democrat and loyal ally to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

This time around, Wasserman Schultz and Meek say their relationships with the Republican incumbents, Reps. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother Mario, and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, leave them little choice but to sit out the three races.

"At the end of the day, we need a member who isn't going to pull any punches, who isn't going to be hesitant," Wasserman Schultz said.

Now, you'd expect this kind of bullshit from a backbencher like Alcee Hastings, but you wouldn't expect this kind of behavior from the co-chair of the DCCC's Red to Blue program, which is the position that Wasserman Schultz currently holds. Apparently, Debbie did not get Rahm's memo about doing whatever it takes to win:

The national party, enthusiastic about the three Democratic challengers, has not yet selected Red to Blue participants. But Wasserman Schultz has already told the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that if any of the three make the cut, another Democrat should be assigned to the race.

The bloggers also are furious with Rep. Kendrick B. Meek (D-Fla.), who similarly refuses to endorse the Democratic challengers to the three Cuban American Republicans.

They are calling for Wasserman Schultz to step down from her leadership role at the DCCC. And they're not letting up, even after one Florida liberal blogger reported that the congresswoman seemed "frustrated" by the blogs and had asked to "please help get them off my back."

This prompted even harsher reaction from perhaps the most influential of the progressive political bloggers, Markos Moulitsas, a.k.a. Kos, founder of Daily Kos, who wrote on his blog Wednesday: "On so many fronts, the Republicans are standing in the way of progress, on Iraq, SCHIP, health care, fiscal responsibility, corruption, civil liberties, and so on. Those three south Florida Republicans are part of that problem. And she's (Wasserman-Schultz) going to be 'frustrated' that people demand she do her job?"

Here are Kos comments on the Wasserman-Schultz betrayal of the Democratic Party:

A lot of time has passed since 2008, but I don't take these kinds of betrayals lightly.

Cursed with a memory

"I want to thank Debbie Wasserman-Schultz for being an outstanding chair of our party. (Applause.) She is a great partner."--President Obama

With "partners" like this, we don't need Republicans!

and we KNOW which candidate she supports, which, interestingly enough, is the same candidate that would be hurt in a debate because she's not able to clarify her positions.

competitive primaries (2006), and abstentionism (2014) all sound a little hollow, no?

of course they had no more legs to stand on after sabotaging Lamont and Halter--but it's crucial to remember that every hypocritical act was another act that strengthened their grip on the party (so why stop?)

What month and year is this?

I'd rather wait a while and hope that ws bails out or is pushed out of her position. And I am not ready to choose a candidate yet anyway. Take a chillpill... things will happen in due course.

Obviously hooked on the instant gratification drug, n'est ce pas?
