Bernie Sanders does not like the DNC's debate schedule and line-up

Senator Bernie Sanders, (I), is very unhappy with the debate schedule of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and is planning to contact Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, (D,Fla.), to request additions to the slate of debates that has been approved by the DNC to date. Sanders even has suggested that he may break tradition and go outside the process to acquire more debates in different places, including red states in which Democrats usually do not fare well. Sanders even has expressed a desire to participate in debates that include about a dozen Democrats and Republicans, according to ABC News on Thursday.

When asked his views on Hillary Clinton, Sanders expressed his objections to her unwillingness to state her position on the controversial Free Trade Agreement (Trans-Pacific Partnership) initiated by President Barack Obama. Sanders cited both environmental groups and labor unions as having serious objections to the Free Trade Agreement. According to Sanders, a majority of Democrats in Congress object to the Free Trade Agreement. Sanders suggested that Hillary Clinton is in a position to influence the Congressional debate on this matter.

Although Sanders is an Independent, he is running and competing in Democratic primary elections in the various primaries and caucuses nationwide. If he does win the Democratic Nomination, he will be the first candidate ever to win the nomination as a presidential candidate in a major political party as an Independent. Sanders always has been a trailblazer and this time he is on the hot path to debates on the campaign trail. If he does well in the Iowa Caucus and the early primaries, he will gain momentum that could sustain him throughout the campaign, including the red states.

...and The Washington Examiner.

Philip Anschutz said when he bought examiner.com that he wanted to make it 'the Fox News of the Internet.'

14. It's ended up being really more of a junk news site.

Like Gawker and its properties. Basically you can sign up to be a 'journalist,' write something and collect a few bucks based on clicks.

A Lot of freeper types 'write' there.

13. Philip Anschutz

He has:

Supported the Parents Television Council, a group that protests against television indecency.[45]
Financed and distributed films with Christian themes, such as Amazing Grace and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, for mass audiences through his two film production companies and ownership of much of the Regal, Edwards and United Artists theater chains.
Financed The Foundation for a Better Life.
In 2009 Anschutz purchased the conservative American opinion magazine The Weekly Standard from Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.[46]
Philip Anschutz and fellow board members of the American Petroleum Institute in Washington are credited by Bush's energy secretary for the Oval Office decision in 2001 to stand with the 95-0 vote in the U.S. Senate four years earlier against bringing ratification of the Kyoto Protocol to the floor for consideration. The primary reason cited was the crippling economic effects of the treaty.[citation needed]
Financed the 2010 pro-charter school film, Waiting for Superman.[47]
Financed the 2012 pro-parent trigger film, Won't Back Down.[48]

5. Is there any updated information on his conversation with DWS?

This is from well over a month ago. Has he said how the conversation he planned on initiating went? What was DWS answer to him? Speculation sucks. I'm sure his campaign found time to contact her in the last forty or so days.

8. I had never seen this which is why I posted it and

since this isn't LBN I thought I'd post it here in case others hadn't seen it. To answer your question, no, there has been no updated information from DWS. The last communication that was publically announced about the debates was in May, well over a month ago.

16. I have zero issue with your op. Sorry if I came off that way.

I do not like the handling of the debates at all. We will probably disagree on the numbers, as I think six is fine, but I'm sure we can agree that the set-up should be damn near complete at this time. Dates, times, venue, format. What DWS has done in my mind, and not just with the debates, should leave here without the job she currently holds. It's just not acceptable. I will also go as far as to say anything left lingering at this point is a benefit to Hillary. That is not DWS job. Then again, not sure if Sanders best interests are a part of her job either. Regardless, favoritism for Hillary over O'Malley and Sanders should not be acceptable.

With respect to the article, I highly doubt the Sanders campaign just didn't follow up. Maybe send them an email and ask if they are willing to talk about their discussion.

18. I suppose I could

but that campaign is so busy they can't even keep up with their t-shirt orders, much less answer an email from an old DFH in Fresno, CA.

I would like to see a follow up, though.

10. Well, no.

But I think it's an interesting idea that if DWS continues to stall, to have a debate outside the corporate-controlled/pro-Hillary DNC debates.

12. dnc should let him participate in other debates

It's not like there are that many candidates like with the republicans where you need a bunch of rules to have a smaller group for the debates.

15. There are 5 candidates considered "frontrunners"

There's actually 70-some-odd people running in the Democratic primaries but that's always the case. You've never heard of 90% of them but I would think narrowing it down to Clinton, Sanders, O'Malley, Chaffee and Webb would be easy enough.

22. Very handy to publish a story from a month ago, in case anyone missed it...

...I'll also not that, since then, Bernie's said nothing. Since he continually brings up the same issues at his rallies, but doesn't include this, can I assume this one is no biggie?
