I am leary of posting this but... HRC ROOMHILLARY CLINTON ROOM. It is becoming clearer after these last few weeks and particularly last night that vocal Hillary Clinton supporters are being targeted for hides. Last night people put legitimate concerns foward about Sanders and two posts were hidden. All the hides were aboug were stifling opposition to Sanders. We are in the minority here and that has become clearer as great posters have been alert stalked and gotten bogus hides and forced vacations. It is getting harder to post here due to fear of hides and the vitriol being hurled at HRC and her supporters here. I am leary of posting this meta here because it is very meta but as a host I have leeway on it. This needs to be said. Just be careful what you say and use ignore and the trash function if you are inclined to. Use your jury blacklist. BE CAUTIOUS how you respond to this thread because people are watching and have itchy fingers on that alert button. I expect to be alerted on but it needs to be said. And again this is a reminder this is the HRC room which is for supporters.

I don't care. I'm voting for Hillary. Bernie doesn't want to be President. He just wants his way. So he lofts political Hail Mary's from a safe seat in the one state he has spent his entire career.
Sure you can pay for "free" college and "free" healthcare for everyone by taxing the rich and cutting defense-- but getting it passed? and without compromises? Vermont voted for single payer but couldn't afford it. Feel the Bern!! |

That was intimidation & I indeed felt it as a threat as an accepted posting member of this Great democratic leaning site.
Did I voice my concerns about the matter? Of course. I'm not a coward nor a bully. GDP was the fairest way to maintain consideration & respect to other members. And the Trash tool is the best tool to move those, who verbally threaten the right of others to be part of DU, through intimidation, out of eyesite if necessary. 8. I am not sure. Listening to other candidates supporters they claim DU "bias" against their
candidate. What I do know is that I believe the jury system is flawed because it seems to me that a lot of the jurors express their personal bias in their decision rather than removing that bias out of the process. That is one reason I refuse to serve on the jury now, because it seems to have evolved into a popularity contest, that is who is the most popular candidate or issue, and less concerned with TOS.
However, I don't set the rules, and just try to avoid those areas where flame bait is common, instead of trying to engage in a normal discussion of issues. |

31. I'd rather see comments made mandatory.
Providing some sort of explanation is beneficial to the alerter, the person alerted on, and the other jurors. If someone finds it too burdensome to write at least a sentence, then he or she should opt out of that jury.

33. I don't even mind the attacks on the alerter.
If it's a purely personal attack, that serves to reveal the juror's bias. If it's legitimate and substantive, it may help counteract the alert stalking referred to in the OP. Occasionally I've written something like "This is a really silly alert" when I thought that merely voting to Leave the post wasn't enough.

He does not despise Hillary Clinton, and does indeed hold much respect for her accomplishments & honors her lifetime dedication to public service.
They have quite similar beliefs. Sanders is a fine man & a great Senator. What he is doing for the 2016 election, is motivating the despondant voters to take their future serious. Ignoring the 2016 election will give the GOP absolute power. He is saying, "pay attention!" But he will graciously support his friend Hillary Clinton as she stands against the powerful backroom money machine of the RW. Too bad the anti Hillary vocal groups cannot see this campaign for what it really is. |

103. Jimmy Carter was a great Leader.
Things don't change politically until the electorate changes. Politicians never drive change. A great politician understands this and has a feel for what is bubbling underneath the surface of society.
The GOP with its appeal to fear and anger tried to force the tipping points, but Barrack Obama corralled that inertia and gently pulled toward progress with grace and positive motivation. Jimmy Carter took a stand for America against Apartheid. I will never forget that. That is a bright star for our nation, and it struck a deep advance toward our nation electing its First Black President. The Alerting Bern-Outs on the other hand?--- |

106. I appreciate him for all kinds of reasons. But during this campaign he has behaved in a particularly
exemplary fashion. Notice how he never dumps on Hillary. He seems to be adhering to an unspoken "11th Commandment for Democrats" - like reagan's GOP version - "Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill of Another republi-CON" - well, our version would obviously be "Thou Shalt Not Speak Ill of Another Democrat."
All that does is drill holes in the bottom of the boat of whoever's gonna be the last person standing at the end of primary season. All that does is foster animosity and resentment and encourages people to stay home and pout because they didn't get the candidate they wanted. All that does is further divide us, when we're ALL going to have to be shoulder-to-shoulder and LOCKSTEP TOGETHER to make sure WE DEMS keep the White House. ANY of the most recent Supreme Court decisions are proof positive of this - it makes a HUGE difference who gets to nominate Supreme Court justices. You want more scalias and thomases and alitos? Then go ahead - dump on the other Democrat! Make sure everybody's divided and pissed off and resentful at the end, because that is what you WILL wind up with. The BAD GUYS win it and our numbers are all scattered and divided and licking all kinds of wounds real and imagined. And eventually everything that meant anything to you, policy-wise, begins to be dismantled and carved up and warped and shredded and changed - and REVERSED. Eyes on the PRIZE, guys! I've noticed Hillary isn't dumping on Bernie either. Nor should she. And he's being most graceful toward her as well. THAT'S HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!!! And we followers of both these candidates need to take a page from their campaign strategy books, and behave toward each other like THEY are behaving toward each other. I suspect each of them understands that the End Game requires each of their camps to come together as a united front - if there's to be another Democrat in the White House after Barack Obama and family retire from there. |

But the more I hear from immature and hostile Bernie supporters, the less inclined I am to vote for him. Bernie, save me from your followers!

49. I've seen the same thing - but worse people jumping on Clinton supporters...
....just because they are Clinton supporters.
And they jump into Clinton threads in General Discussion or Latest Breaking News and post attacks on Clinton, inciting arguments. Not only that, but this site is being flooded with OPs extolling the virtues of Sanders (of which he has many) and then they all "Rec" them so they wind up on the home page. Although I truly respect Sanders and think he has some great ideas, his followers on this site are souring me on Sanders. |

51. A true generalization
We are not supposed to generalize, but you may have a case here. I am a Sanders supporter, but I notice a certain "hardness" from some of my fellow travelers. I guess they would call it determination, or firm resolve, or something like that, but some of them seem to have a mean streak. As others have pointed out, this is so unlike Sanders himself, who is pretty calm. Anyway it's good to remind people, when they serve on a jury, to read a post carefully, then consider it for a minute before voting to pull the plug.

61. yep - it was on the latest threads and I didn't look to see the group.
but I will not make that mistake again as i will avoid any Hillary group posts.
Guess I was under the wrong impression that we could respond to posts anywhere in DU. I am about to the point of leaving DU. We have three fine candidates. Three of the very best candidates i have seen in decades. When I see this triping like this it makes me wonder if the candidate is somehow deficient. I don't seem to see this to the same degree with the O'Malley folks and the Sanders folks. I open these through latest threads, but I will be careful. I can certainly tell when I am not wanted. |

101. All this fighting among each other is just not healthy, after all I would hope in the end
we desire the same...
Hillary has name recognition but as some believe that is not her shining attribute, that distinction would be her strength surviving in the world she has chosen and still standing after far too many attempts at ensuring she fall... Usually men fear such strong females, obviously they are not alone in their fear |
