I wanted to thank Hell Hath No Fury for linking to one of my OPs from another site. Unfortunately, he/she posted it in the BS Group, from which I have been banned, so I cannot thank him/her directly in the appropriate thread.

But I am not going to allow that circumstance to prevent me from expressing my appreciation to him/her for posting a link to something I really wanted to post here on DU, but didn’t bother because I knew it would be “hidden” within minutes.

And now it is available to be read by all. I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am to be able to express my views here on DemocraticUnderground, thanks to a poster who was willing to give me the opportunity to do so – as inadvertent and unintentional as that may have been.

Can we start to alert on off-site pages? Before you laugh, think about it. The way things are constituted right now, those people can and do say vile things about my candidate and his supporters. This is fundamentally wrong, given that almost all of that site is populated by current DUers. So what's your solution?

I don't care who anyone is supporting...can we please get our shit together and discuss issues like adults? I grew up reading and learning from DUers. Now it's just like reading a facebook comment thread...on gay marriage, religion, or welfare...and we all know how that goes. I left high school years ago; I'm not interested in having to sift through that kind of crap to find some semblance of intelligent discussion.

It's FUCKING SAD that I see better discussions on REDDIT than DU. For fuck's sake, that's just sad.

The hate-site that Nance Greggs linked to in the BS group stands as an antithesis to everything that DU stands for; objectivity, truth, debate and open conversation. Similar in nature and purpose to ConservativeCave and FreeRepublic, I consider any poster who cross-posts to the linked forum to be a malicious intruder and will be voting in all instances to hide any and every post by any poster with ties to that board. We have enough right-wing racists and trolls in DU without the addition of "persecuted" ex-DUers.

I'm voting to hide, and will do so in the future for -every and any- member linked to DU's bastard stepchild of a hate-site.
