I do not know the vintage of this photograph. This might be from a long gone advertising campaign.
{Edited: and so it is. Per Celerity, it is from Father's Day 2011. Thanks, Celerity.}

(2,635 posts)Have you ever dined there? I cant afford to on my own but at one time my vendors could. The food was spectacular. If you are a steak eater of course. That was a different time maybe things have changed

(22,541 posts)I only eat steak rarely and when I do I get a really good steak. I would never order a steak at an Applebee's. Maybe it is better from there but I don't know. I doubt however that they are the only ones who know how to procure and cook a really good steak.

(1,444 posts)Legumes and rice and fruits and veggies sustain me just fine. But a few times a year, depending on the phase of the moon or something, I find a USDA Prime New York strip. Never eaten at Mortens, but Ive heard its reputable steak house.
Now with all of the truthfulness out of the way, the demographic appeal of that add punches some buttons for e.

(43,933 posts)read. I have never eaten at a Morton's, but I do work with (here in Stockholm) an born and raised American bloke, a commodities trader, who is much older than I am. He worked in Chicago, and lived in a hi-rise called Newberry Plaza (which he said had a glass-enclosed large jungle with a waterfall in the lobby and a tonne of famous people, like Bob Hope, etc, with full or part-time flats there) whilst he was a local at the Chicago Board of Trade in the 1980's.
That building complex is where the first Morton's was, along with the founder's (Arnie Morton) crown jewel resto, Arnie's. He (my co-worker) said both were amazing back in the day. I actually called him up yesterday to ask him about all this (after the Kavanaugh incident), as I knew his background a bit, and he talked my leg off, LOLOLOL, which is par for the course with him, as he has had a crazy life and is an absolutely wonderful story-teller.
The two best steaks in the US I personally had at 'chains' were the filet mignon at The Palm in Los Angeles, and porterhouse for two at Peter Luger (if that counts as a 'chain') in Brooklyn.

I encourage the right to eat more raw meat.
