cloud computing... I am so far from computer literate it is shameful, but I know you can send things there, and retrieve them. The paper white, perhaps all kindles now, can store things in the cloud for later retrieval....I've only had mine a few months.... Also, I'm pretty sure if a book is ever lost you can re-download it. I have always found Amazon a pleasure to deal with... My new mac always asks if I want to send stuff to the cloud...Like I said, I am a technology idiot...I wish I could be of more help.

Oh yes....My dictionaries on my Paper White are stored in the cloud....
