1. Has anyone considered the danger in allowing local cops to decide who get a concealed carry permit?

I'm glad for those voters in Illinois. We need to take discretion away from local cops and make carry permits "shall issue" contingent on satisfying certain requirements.

I know that there's a lot of crooked sheriff's offices and police departments who would have no problem discriminating on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation in deciding who gets permits.
