7. Oh-Boy, Oh-Boy! Do I remember how my Dad STILL supported Nixon

Yeah, My Dad was a Nixon Democrat...
I was just a little kid..What did I know?! I knew I hated war and violence and knew they were wrong and nobody, not even my Dad,(a WW11 Veteran) could tell me different! I can remember watching this on the news, at our kitchen table..
Oh, how I wish I didn't remember him saying "They ought to shoot all the Hippies"... I remember being so brokenhearted--It seemed to me he thought everyone who turned eighteen, and I thought.. was very cool, was automatically a Hippie!
My Dad did change to some extent...when his Nephew-my cousin, was killed in Vietnam...

It was different back then--We had Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather. We had real Journalists and only about four channels..Plus PBS. Even, the Music (Like the song in the video) had a message of truth!
If the media then, was like it is, now..the Vietnam War could still be going on!

We better teach our kids about the Vietnam War and while were at it; the fight for Unions, the Glass–Steagall Act, The New Deal, and The GI Bill..Also, what 'Real Journalism' looks like..!
