And the Norquist pledge. Republicans have never bargined in good faith, only agreeing to unspecified changes in tax deductions. Never has the GOP put up anything which the CBO could score, leaving us to believe the wild claims of $800 billion in revenue. Besides, all analysis of the Republican proposal points to more tax cuts for the weathy while the middle class gets stuck with tax increases. And they never show how austerity can spur economic growth, which is the only real way out of the problem. Boehner's comment that " w)e've been reasonable and responsible" is downright laughable as they have been neither.
