And through those years have, for long period of times, not been allowed to visit and pray at their sacred sites. Even today Jews are prohibited from praying at their most sacred site because Muslims can't handle it.

The Jewish tribe, like many native american tribes have what anthropologists call a "connection to place". Certain ceremonies and prayers can only be done at certain places. Over the years the Jews paid for property in Palestine so they could worship at those sites.
