so that they don't wind up in debt. there's nothing wrong for a doctor to earn 100,000 to 150,000 dollars (i heard that doctors make about that in some of the socialized medicine countries). also, with government aid, we may actually get people from poor, middle class families who actually want to be doctors to help people; instead of monetary motive.
