When you throw out statements that blatantly deny other people's reality, no matter how "technically" accurate they are, people are going to question your statements.
So unless you are willing to sit down and give us a concise and engaging geology and history lesson, the billions of years of change you are talking about means bubkiss to us.
We're dealing with finite reality and one that seems to be changing. That makes people nervous. Some random stranger telling us that it's okay because there are more sensors or this isn't unusual really doesn't do anything but make people MORE anxious.
Hint: The better you explain things, the less people question you and the more reassured they are.
