(1,489 posts)He is a very like-able guy that has let many "real" progressives down.
He is the first African American president. I cannot be prouder of our country for putting that shame behind us.
On steering us away from the fiscal cliff that working class Americans are headed toward, he has done far to little.
He lobbied for Cromnibus. What else needs to be said?
He had a chance to do what economists like Stiglitz and Reich say would be one of the most important things he could do - raise the minimum wage but did not do it. The argument that he could not get it done because 60 votes was impossible is disingenuous. The ACA, which was political dynamite, passed with 60 votes. Surely, a minimum wage increase, which has broad support from all Americans, would have been easier to pass than the ACA.
He is in fact, the only democratic president to not fight for and win a raise for the working poor. To let this slide when the minimum wage is such injustice is sad.
He blew it.
