(42,700 posts)17. Right that they can't be classified as traitors but for wrong reason.
The right reason, as is pointed out almost every time someone is labelled a traitor is that, in the United States, the crime of treason -- of being a "traitor" -- is narrowly defined in the Constitution and wouldn't encompass the actions described in the OP.
