In reply to the discussion: DU Exclusive: Gravis Marketing exposed as a fraud Part I [View all]grantcart
(53,061 posts)174. Yes we can until he proves otherwise.
He doesn't have a sustainable business model for a pollster.
He doesn't have academic credentials for a pollster.
and there is no evidence before he started providing numbers on a national race that he had ever done a single poll.
Do a google search and find out what was his first published poll?
I can't find anything in 2011.
Now let me ask you another question if you set a polling operation that published results but never ran a poll and it was done intentionally to induce people to make contributions under the premise that their candidate was doing better than he really was would that be grounds for criminal fraud?
But putting aside the question of whether or not he conducted any polls or not the real issue is that the media has nobody checking at the gate. They have a corral of people they are broadcasting results for and they never put in a couple of hours to check if they were legitimate or not. No matter what standard you use Gravis Marketing is not going to meet it.

I did a Google search on 'Mr. Kaplan' (first photo) and it appears to be a stock image.
