Is "Bush Hater" or "Romney Hater" a really broad category?
Back when Bush was President, I hardly ever shut up about him. It was like I was on fire, because it seemed like every day brought a new outrage from Bush. I used this as my signature line for my email '"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
George W Bush, accidentally telling the truth'
and believed it was true. It was like there was an "Injustice league" just sitting around and plotting "How can we get more power for ourselves, and how can we further stick it to the working class?"
So I hardly ever shut up about it.
And some people didn't want to deal with it. I sent an email to a family history list. THe email was about a distant relative in the Loomis family who was a state level politician in Nebraska. I didn't mention Bush at all.
Except for my email signature line which was automatic.
But one "Bush lover" on the list could not handle that. He sent an email to the list saying that my email was awful, how dare I include that last line, and I should be reprimanded for bringing politics into the discussion, and so on.
Now it seems the situation is reversed. "Dealing with them" seems to be an issue because of intolerance. We cannot tolerate that they hate the President, so we have to "deal with them" rather than just accept that they have a different point of view.
Maybe it is sisters and brothers, and every family is different. My own brother, though, is pretty much my best friend. In fact, growing up I sorta felt like I did not need friends, because I had a brother. so getting divided by politics, even though i take my politics very seriously - is unthinkable.
