Mourdock: Rape Pregnancies ‘Something That God Intended to Happen’

Source: tpm

At the final debate in the Indiana Senate race, held Tuesday night, Republican nominee Richard Mourdock explained his opposition to abortion in the cases of rape or incest. In the course of the explanation Mourdock suggested that rape should not be an exception to a ban on abortion, since rape pregnancies are themselves the will of God.

"You know, this is that issue for that every candidates for federal, or even state office, faces. And I, too, certainly stand for life," said Mourdock, after both Democrat Joe Donnelly and Libertarian Andrew Horning had identified as pro-life. "I know there are some who disagree, and I respect their point of view. But I believe that life begins at conception. The only exception I have, to have an abortion, is in that case of the life of the mother."

Mourdock then seemed to choke back tears, and continued: "I've just struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from god. And even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."

Video will be posted shortly.

Reid calls himself a ‘one-man wrecking crew’ aimed at Romney

Source: Las Vegas Sun

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called himself a “one-man wrecking crew” on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s refusal to release his tax returns and warned of “17 angry old white men” spending vast sums on political advertising as he tried to rouse Carson City to vote for Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley and President Barack Obama.

Reid told a packed room in Carson City on Monday that Romney was a “plastic man running for president who changes his position every chance he gets. He isn’t someone who should represent this country.”

-snip-

Reid blasted the money being spent in this election. The spending was allowed in part by the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

The Supreme Court had made decisions “that did awful things for this country. But none is worse than this,” he said.

He singled out Karl Rove, who founded the political nonprofit group Crossroads GPS, which is spending vast amounts of money in Nevada’s U.S. Senate campaign and the presidential race.

“After this election, Karl Rove is going to sit down for breakfast with 17 angry old white men,” including Las Vegas Sands boss Sheldon Adelson, who “think the country is for sale.”

Harry Reid is a Bad Ass!! On Mitt Romney's Taxes: I'm His 'One-Man Wrecking Crew'

link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/23/harry-reid-mitt-romney-taxes_n_2006481.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

When it comes to pressing GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney on his tax returns, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is not going anywhere.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that Reid spoke in Carson City, Nev. on Monday evening, casting himself as a "one-man wrecking crew" on Romney's tax documents.

With the third and final presidential debate looming in the periphery, Reid also hammered Romney's qualifications for president, calling him a “plastic man" who "changes his position every chance he gets."

"He isn’t someone who should represent this country," Reid added.

Reid has been a relentless critic of Romney's reluctance to release more tax returns. In a late-July interview with The Huffington Post, the veteran Democrat claimed that a Bain Capital investor told him Romney did not pay any taxes for 10 years.

"His poor father must be so embarrassed about his son," Reid said, highlighting George Romney's choice to release 12 years of tax returns as a 1968 presidential candidate.

Romney struck back a few days later, vowing that Reid would have to "put up or shut up" on his source.

Megyn Kelly: Press Room ‘Erupted’ In Laughter And Applause At Obama’s ‘Horses And Bayonets’ Line

Awwwwww!!!! Poor Megyn Kelly is sad because the press was laughing at Mittens' expense

Fox News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly revealed that, while she watched the final presidential debate from the press room at Lynn College in Florida on Monday night, the assembled journalists burst into laughter and applause when President Barack Obama landed a rhetorical blow against Mitt Romney. When Romney said that Obama has presided over the downsizing of the Navy, Obama shot back “We also have fewer horses and bayonets.” Kelly claims that reporters exalted over this chiding of his Republican opponent.

“I was in the spin room in Boca when the president made that comment and I can tell you that the media literally erupted around me – laughing and many clapping,” said Kelly.
