LA's fascist overlords plan "Neighborhood Prosecutors", "intelligence-based graffiti removal"...

http://ccala.org/downloads/DT2020legislativeprioritiesJan2012.pdf

The "CCA" are a corporate/investment coagulation driven to own this city under the guise of development and corporate policing. They hate the homeless as an obstacle to their wealth and power. They have the ear of city hall and help business attain favorable legislation (corporate influence of government is Mussolini's definition of Fascism). They have their own policing squads who sometimes work as police substitutes. The head of the CCA once wrote an anti-homeless opinion piece in the local 1% rag the LA Times. The head of the CCA was lately called the sixth most powerful person in Downtown LA (the mayor being fifth).

They are attempting to utterly control this city. What's it like in your town?

The best articles yet on this fascist blight:

Harsh Skid Row policies driven by business lobby, say advocates

And this is ridiculous, and par for the course in our experience with them:

Mexico is having the largest protest the world has ever seen; Media blacked it out!

Edited out the all caps title from the source.

July 9:

Edit: Original video is hosted on three youtube channels but all are RW. It was alerted so I removed it. Sorry about that. I didn't check.

Alternate video provided by a kind DUer, via Aljazeera but I know at least one person will be upset with that; RT have a 12-minute report but I know from experience that more than one DUer have trouble with them, so here is a man's personal video of a smaller protest. I speak no spanish so his channel might be entirely dedicated to offensive things :

Occupy 2, Portland Police Bureau 0

http://www.portlandoccupier.org/2012/07/10/occupy-2-portland-police-bureau-0/

In the end it was called a draw by Judge Dailey and Mr. 60 went free.

During the trial there were a lot of comments from the gallery by Occupy support which Judge Dailey did not tolerate. Some did come close to expulsion or contempt charges.

To be fair to Mr 60, he does not claim to be from Occupy. He says that he’s an Anarchist and that Occupiers are much nicer than he is. His post trial interview is a gem, it can be viewed at this link.

Ukrainian students invent gloves that convert sign language into speech

http://io9.com/5924500/ukrainian-students-invent-gloves-that-convert-sign-language-into-speech?utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

The team has built a number of prototypes and tested them with sign language-users in the Ukraine. The idea for the project, said team member Osika Maxim, came from interacting with hearing-impaired athletes at the groups' school.

The few existing projects that come close to what EnableTalk is proposing generally cost around $1,200 and usually have fewer sensors, use wired connections and don't come with an integrated software solution. EnableTalk, on the other hand, says that the hardware for its prototypes costs somewhere around $75 per device.

Besides the cost, though, another feature that makes this project so interesting is that users can teach the system new gestures and modify those that the team plans to ship in a library of standard gestures. Given the high degree of variation among sign languages, which also has regional dialects just like spoken language, this will be a welcome feature for users.

Brutal, fascist mayor upset Occupy has revealed photos of undercover cops.

Pig State News

"Occupy Chicago protesters have put up on the internet photos of two individuals they say are undercover Chicago police officers who supposedly entrapped them.
Mayor Emanuel is not pleased.

"If what has been reported is happening – any issue that deals with what police are doing on a professional basis, more than just upsets me. Second is – ah – I'll just stay with that."

And Emanuel said "the proper people are working on any issues that deal with that."

The Chicago Police Department won’t confirm or deny whether the man and woman are cops or snitches — but police Supt. Garry McCarthy called the release of the pictures unethical and “personally disgusting.”

Occupy Chicago Releases Additional Photos of Both Suspected Police Informants Involved in NATO Terrorism-Related Cases

Rahm Emmanuel, being a Goldman Sachs lackey, is thus a Fascist under Mussolini's definition. In ordering and being happy with his thug's police brutality against the No-NATO protests and its Constitutional basis, he is a fascist by any remaining definition.

Chicago thugs 15+ deep against a peaceful, Constitutional assembly. People were bloodied and beaten, including obvious journalists:

Trans-Pacific Partnership: Under Cover of Darkness, a Corporate Coup Is Underway

http://www.alternet.org/story/156059/trans-pacific_partnership:_under_cover_of_darkness,_a_corporate_coup_is_underway
http://www.thenation.com/article/168627/nafta-steroids?rel=emailNation

With the direct participation of 600 corporations and shocking levels of secrecy, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is rushing to complete the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Branded as a trade agreement (yawn) by its corporate proponents, TPP largely has evaded public and congressional scrutiny since negotiations were launched in 2008 by the George W. Bush administration.

But trade is the least of it. Only two of TPP’s 26 chapters actually have to do with trade. The rest is about new enforceable corporate rights and privileges and constraints on government regulation. This includes new extensions of price-raising drug patent monopolies, corporate rights to attack government drug formulary pricing plans, safeguards to facilitate job offshoring and new corporate controls over natural resources.

Also included are severe limits on government regulation of financial services, zoning and land use, product and food safety, energy and other essential services, tobacco, and more. The copyright chapter poses many of the threats to Internet freedom of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which was stalled in Congress under intense public pressure.

L.A. County sheriff's official tells of jail brutality

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-jails-20120707,0,3722637.story

A former lieutenant says Capt. Daniel Cruz, head of the Men's Central Jail, created an atmosphere of violence that encouraged misconduct and did not tolerate complaints.

Capt. Daniel Cruz even joked at the department's annual Christmas party about hitting inmates, according to Michael Bornman, who is now a department captain. While toasting deputies at the party, Cruz allegedly asked a banquet hall-full of jailers: "What do I always tell you guys?"

In unison, Bornman said, the jail deputies — many of whom were laughing — responded "Not in the face."

"That's right," Cruz replied, according to Bornman. "Not in the face." Bornman said the slogan was an instruction to strike inmates on parts of the body where their blows wouldn't leave marks.
