Ever see the movie, "Casino"?

Remember towards the end when DeNiro's character had that talk show which he used to go off on unhinged rants? That's exactly what is happening right now at the RNC convention.

Pity there's no Joe Pesci to put Trump in his place.

After roll call vote, Trump shows up in person and starts up with his conspiracy bullshit

He's riffing. Off script. Like a bad lounge comic.

--On Edit--

Only very stupid people would find this speech uplifting. Very. Stupid. People.

DNC's roll call is vastly superior to the RNC's.

The RNC roll call is dull and boring. Looks like a corporate retreat meeting.

Republicans keep praising the fossil fuel industry during their convention

Meanwhile, CA is facing horrendous forrest fires and there are two hurricanes approaching New Orleans.

I'm seeing an uptick on the number of segments on "bipartisanship" in the news.

Especially now that it's looking more and more like the Democrats will win big in the Fall. Just saw a segment on MSNBC about it.

Funny how that works. When Republicans win, it's all about their agenda and how the Democrats better get in line.

But when the Democrats are about to win, it's all "why can't we all work together as one nation?".

Biden and the Democrats should not fall for this bullshit.

Networks better have panels of Healthcare professionals ready to rebut any wild claims coming...

from the Republican national convention this week. Especially claims of miracle vaccine or cures and/or downplaying the severity of the virus and any other fallacious claims like masks should be voluntary or kids cannot get infected.

They cannot let any such mis-information be broadcast nationally. Lives are at stake here.

My prediction for the RNC convention...lots of dead screen time.

There will be a lot of empty podiums and dead screen time. Given that most of it will be live, the producers will have to get people in position and ready. If someone goes long or short or if there any mishaps or technical problems, all of that could lead to empty podiums and dead screen time.

SNL does a 90 minute live show every week, and it take teams of people to move swiftly from one sketch to the next. Years of practice and day of rehearsals make the show look smooth to the viewer at home. The RNC thinks that they can duplicate what SNL has mastered over 45 years in one week, and do it for four nights in a row.

Trump wants live programming at his convention next week.

Live TV?! Four nights a week?! What could possibly go wrong? Literally, everything.

President Donald Trump, a television producer at heart, is hoping for a convention next week that looks vastly different from the all-digital event Democrats have staged over the past days -- including an emphasis on live programming and at least some type of audience who can respond to the multiple appearances he is planning.
Calling aides at all hours from Air Force One or the White House residence, Trump has conveyed last-minute ideas on venues or gimmicks and demanded progress reports on the speakers he wants during his nominating extravaganza, which he hopes will provide a boost to his poll numbers.
