http://usuncut.com/politics/bernie-sanders-pope-clinton-fundraiser/On Friday, April 15, Bernie Sanders will travel to the Vatican to discuss the global economy and environmental sustainability at a conference on social, environmental, and economic issues, hosted by the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. Sanders will speak on his vision of a moral economy.
Pope Francis has made clear that we must overcome the globalization of indifference in order to reduce economic inequalities, stop financial corruption and protect the natural environment. That is our challenge in the United States and in the world, Sanders said in a public statement.
That same day, Hillary Clinton will be attending a fundraiser in the global financial capital of Hong Kong, hosted by Gary Gensler, her campaigns Chief Financial Officer. Gensler walked through the revolving door from Wall Street to Washingtons financial regulatory system. Prior to heading up the Commodity Futures Trading Commissions (CFTC) regulation of derivative swaps, Gensler was a partner at Goldman Sachs. The fundraiser can only be attended by those willing to donate the maximum allowable contribution of $2,700.
Which side are you on, man? Which side are you on?

(53,137 posts)Rather than the one that seeks to overturn the popular vote and install himself in power against the will of the electorate. http://www.ibtimes.com/bernie-sanders-fantasy-campaign-hopes-win-hillary-clintons-pledged-delegates-unlikely-2338452
If Bernie had won--or could win--the majority of votes in the Democratic primary, I would respect that, despite the fact he isn't my personal choice. What I do not respect is a determination that the votes of the majority are less important than the desires of a minority.
Oh, about this vatican "invitation." http://www.democraticunderground.com/10141407275

(854 posts)U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was invited to speak at an April 15 Vatican event by the Vatican, a senior papal official said on Friday, denying a report that Sanders had invited himself.
"I deny that. It was not that way," Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo told Reuters in a telephone interview while he was traveling in New York. Sorondo, a close aide to Pope Francis, is chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which is hosting the event.
He said it was his idea to invite Sanders.

(53,137 posts)Not "Team Hillary." Clinton doesn't actually issue statements from the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which is hosting the event.

(84,711 posts)that Bernie had invited himself. Tad graciously defected her insinuation and said he hadn't had time to check out the details but was sure they'd be released.
One can always count on Andrea to put out the latest gossip/disinfo she hears from "her sources."
To give Andrea a little credit she did show Bill's "off the leash" speech where he dissed BLM protesters and made it all about defending HIS administration's policies on why they cracked down on black gang "predators." Plus, she showed a snip of Matt Lauers, one on one, interview with Hillary where he asked her about her E-Mail Problem under investigation which she laughed off, in her usual way, saying it was just a "security check" and since they'd been after her for 25 years it meant nothing.
So, Andrea can be an "interesting" resource.

The difference between them is huge. We really need Sanders.
