Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce Bernie Sanders Benefit Concert

Source: Billboard

The Red Hot Chili Peppers #FeelTheBern and aren't afraid to show it.

On Feb. 5, the California rockers will perform at a benefit concert for presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. Special guests have yet to be announced.

“So excited to be playing this concert for Bernie Sanders next week. Feels great to support someone I believe in,” Flea wrote on both Facebook and Instagram. “The RHCP offered to give him the money to pay for the theater that night but he wouldn't accept, he only accepts small donations from individuals. Every other politician greedily grabs every cent they can get from any scumbag lobbyist. This is a man with integrity. If you can please buy the expensive seats to help out the campaign. Thank you so much. Bernie sanders for president.”

The Chili Peppers aren't the only musicians in Sanders' corner: Vampire Weekend, Killer Mike and Foster the People will play at an Iowa rally for the presidential hopeful on Saturday.

Damn, I was hoping there would be some $100 tickets, but they start at $500. Too rich for my blood.

You can get general audience seating with a suggested minimum donation of (I think) $30.00.

I heard this on 'Bernie TV' just a little while ago, so no link. But I'll try to find the exact time-mark on the video for you.

Heck, for $30, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Even fine with a little bit more. I would very much appreciate any information on getting "poor mans" tickets as I'm looking to donate more to Bernie, and seeing what should be a good show is an immense added bonus as I love live music.

Edit: Found the information. Apparently the cheap tickets go onsale the day of show and start at $40. I'm guessing they'll sell out lightening fast, so I'll give it a shot next week.
