First time poster in this group. An open question to Jews:

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by ellisonz (a host of the Jewish Group group).

Was the "Warsaw Uprising" and (similar uprisings against Nazi occupation, including at extermination camps), a real event? If so, are these events widely-known within the Jewish community, and do they occupy an important and positive part of Jewish culture and history?

Thank you for your indulgence.

You can read about in Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto_Uprising

If you've heard of Yom Ha'Shoa - Holocaust Day - it is observed on the day, plus one week, when uprising started. (It started on the Eve of Passover and selecting that date would have been a bit complicated).

It is widely known among Jews who have observed Holocaust Day and who have visited any of the Holocaust Museums.

Named "Save The Music." Uprisings were dramatically depicted (along with still shots, some horrible).

Due to some hostile reaction I got for posting these events, and hypothesizing that the Nazi confiscation of guns using registration records handicapped ghetto-bound Jews, I
I was termed NRA/RW troll. The OP was quickly canned by jury. Leaving aside my hypothesis, I want to further ask if the site, video, or whole approach to this history is a promulgation by reactionary/rightist entities.

Thankyou so much.

Can you give a link to the site or the video?

Sadly, many use the Nazi confiscation of guns as justification for preventing gun control in this country. I would like to think that we are not Nazi Germany, not in a long run.

... for making a sick and ignorant argument. Your ignorance, and your disregard for our humanity, our history, and our actual views, is manifest in your sign-off. Hanukkah ended days ago.
