Milwaukee man dies after accidentally shooting himself in leg

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the General Discussion forum).

A 22-year-old Milwaukee man died early Friday after it appeared he accidentally shot himself in the leg as he was putting his gun back in its holster, according the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.

Timothy B. Phonisay died at Froedtert Hospital during surgery.

Phonisay was apparently posing with his gun and it discharged when he went to holster it, firing a round into his right groin and striking the femoral artery, according to the medical examiner's report.

Phonisay purchased the Springfield .45-caliber handgun three months ago and had a concealed carry permit, according to the report. His death was ruled an accident.

It appears this story doesn't even make the cut over there for being within SOP...

And since absolutely nobody ever goes to gungeon 2...most don't even know it exists, then when they go there and see it a couple of lonely souls talking to themselves they just leave in pitty....it would be a monumental waste of time to post it there .

negative stories as they are the ones usually posted in GD in violation of the group SOP. I find the RKBA supporters here on DU tend to respect Skinner and follow the SOP and Skinner's guidance on gun related posts in GD.

Pointing that out is not whining.

What can and cannot be posted in the General Discussion forum
The Statement of Purpose for the General Discussion forum says this:

Discuss politics, issues, and current events. Posts about Israel/Palestine, religion, guns, showbiz, or sports are restricted in this forum. Conspiracy theories and disruptive meta-discussion are forbidden.

GUNS

News stories (and related content) from reputable mainstream sources about efforts to strengthen or weaken gun control legislation in any jurisdiction in the United States, national news stories (and related content) from reputable mainstream sources about high-profile gun crimes, and viral political content from social media or blogs that would likely be of interest to a large majority of DU members are permitted under normal circumstances.

Local stories about gun crime and "gun porn" threads showing pictures of guns or discussing the merits of various firearms are not permitted under normal circumstances and should be posted in the Gun Control and RKBA Group.

Open discussion of guns is permitted during very high-profile news events which are heavily covered across all newsmedia.
