Obama's approval ticks up as Americans hail economic gains.

For the first time since September 2007, the poll found more have a positive economic outlook than a negative one.

Fifty-two percent of those surveyed described economic conditions in the United States today as very good or somewhat good, while 48 percent deemed them somewhat poor or very poor. The public’s economic optimism in the last decade hit its nadir in December 2008, when 93 percent described conditions as somewhat or very poor and only 8 percent saw any good in the economy.

Those surveyed also said they are bullish on the country’s economic future, with 60 percent responding that they expect conditions will be good a year from now. Public optimism about the economy appears to be at its highest since April 2009, three months after Obama took office.

President George W. Bush had a 36 percent approval rating at this point of his presidency in April 2007, while President Bill Clinton enjoyed 60 percent approval in April 1999 following his impeachment and subsequent acquittal in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

President Obama and his Administration helped stabilize the economy and greatly increase health coverage. Now we have an opportunity to continue and expand on these improvements.

We know what republicans do - help the rich get richer, to the detriment of the large majority.

We need to expand the number of good-paying jobs, protect those who can't work, increase wages, strengthen health care policies that have clearly lowered costs and improved lives for the 99%.

If these positive numbers keep up the democratic party nominee could have a coattail effect that would help us make gains in Congress too.

Whoever the democratic party nominee is, they should embrace and expand upon President Obama's best and most progressive policies.

Aloha Cha.

With more consumer confidence comes more spending, which stimulates the economy and drives wages up.

Hopefully!

Otherwise all those people who have been wrong about everything they've ever opened their pie hole about are going to be wrong about that too.

Democrats in Congress and those on the campaign trail should continue doing all they can to expand our economy for the 99%. They should also speak loudly and proudly of what progressive policies accomplish.

that the Democratic nominee will work hand-in-hand with the President and that the President will work on behalf of the nominee - unlike the Clinton/Gore "style" of 2000.

the right wing media will have to take their focus off of him to focus on the 2016 candidates. Without the rw media constantly bashing him people will begin to see the truth.
