Just now Santorum's spokesperson on MSNBC called talked about Obama's "radical Islamic" policies

. . .was actually talking about his "radical environmentalist" policies and slipped up with the "radical Islamic." She can spin it anyway she wants, it was locked and loaded in what Eddie Murphy once called "your mental Rolodex."

In today's lexicon, "radical" is nearly always followed by "Islamic". Santorum isn't sharp enough, or honest enough, to catch and correct his own errors.

Instead they let this stuff drift into the public media discourse as if it had any authenticity at all.

They just repeat press releases verbatim, or at best, attribute it to the person who released the statement. But they almost never inform the reader as to whether the statement is true. I guess they figure that is Politifact's job, because, uh, they do it so well.

in a friendly type way.

When I was available to watch her show I always did. It is not that she actually reflects any specific point (see Kathleen Parker) or that she is an actual journalist - what it is is that she reflects the conventional wisdom of the upper most crust of the DC and Wall Street elite. That includes both and all sides. Watching her show lets one know exactly what we are up against. She unflinchingly (expressionless mostly) lets us know what the most powerful have already decided.

BTW she is a horrific journalist - when Freiss made his jackass comment she said nothing. .... she tweeted "What should I have asked???" - uh if you don't know then you shouldn't be on air.

After all, the talking point of the day was Santorum's support for the global-warming-is-a-hoax hoax.

Now, I suppose she really wanted to argue about how not blah man should ever be president.

We should be shocked and horrified at this disgusting show of behavior by both of these ladies. First and foremost for Ms. Stewart saying it at all and second at Ms. Mitchell for allowing her to continue unchallenged and then to allow Ms. Stewart to interject herself back into the conversation by attempting to roll back her racist and unconscionable comments.

Andre Mitchell should have higher standards than this and MSNBC should hold their reporters to a higher standard than this. To even allow Ms. Stewart to call back and say, "oh, sorry, meant to say this....honest mistake" requires a level of cognizant dissonance on the part of the listener as to be in total free fall from reality. Everyone knows that she meant what she said and said what she meant to say. The whole incident is deplorable and we should not let it go unanswered:

[email protected] (not positive on this one but it’s the only one I could find)
also find her on Twitter

[email protected] (president MSNBC)

We must all make a point to start calling things like this out and shame them when they get it wrong.
