Santorum: Liberals ‘are the anti-science ones’

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum charged on Monday that President Barack Obama and Democrats were “anti-science” because they refused to exploit the Earth’s natural resources to the limits of technology.

Over the weekend the candidate had been criticized for saying that President Barack Obama followed a theology that was not “based on the Bible.” He later insisted that he was talking about the president siding with “radical environmentalists.”

“I accept the fact that the president’s a Christian,” Santorum told CBS host Bob Schieffer on Sunday. “I just said when you have world view that elevates the Earth above man and says that we can’t take those resources because we’re going to harm the Earth — like things that are not scientifically proven like the politicization of the whole global warming debate.”

The candidate returned to the subject again on Monday at a rally in Steubenville, Ohio.

2. He wins.

No matter what, that was some impressive mental olympics he went through to come up with that one.

Other than that, he's a friggin' loon. A dangerous loon armed with bibles, bombs and the American flag.

5. Santorum's idea of science

is putting leeches and mustard poultices on the sick and going "ooga booga" and sprinkling magic dust to try to turn lead into gold.

7. Lead into Gold has been achieved in 1980 by Glenn T. Seaborg

but it was using bismuth

In 1980, he transmuted several thousand atoms of bismuth into gold at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. His experimental technique, using nuclear physics, was able to remove protons and neutrons from the bismuth atoms. Seaborg's technique would have been far too expensive to enable routine manufacturing of gold, but his work is the closest to the mythical Philosopher's Stone.

8. Does he not understand

the difference between science and technology???

What a f'king putz!

Liberals use science and scientific data to temper technology so that it is used responsibly. What's so damned difficult to understand about that?

10. Any more Repub debates should be held in the Jeopardy format

And in addition to debiting the score for a wrong answer, there should be an electric shock to the backside. They wouldn't get to the first commercial before they were all jumping.

11. You don't need science to prove the Republicans politicized the global warming problem

Just look at politics around the world. Centre-right parties in the rest of the developed world know that global warming is real, and man-made; it's only the US Republicans who come up with crap like "it's all a hoax to get more science funding" or "it's a leftist plot to socialize everything".

13. Nope. Christian fundamentalists are the anti science one's.

Remember W and how he had to hide for a week before emerging with the idea that stem cells were bad and we should cut funding? Ol Rick needs to take a good hard look at that admin.

Whoever handed this moran his college diploma needs to answer for it in a court of law. Clearly a case of fraud.
