if you like the sword and sorcery genre, and Arthurian lore in particular, this is a fun series. Originally a BBC production, it was on UK TV starting in 2008. It is now on Netflix streaming.

This TV series follows a very young Merlin who goes to Uther Pendragon's court, where Uther through previous bitter battles had outlawed magic. Impressing the court physcian with his herbal skills and forbidden magical talent, Merlin finds a position as an assistant to Gaius. and manservant to young Prince Arthur.

1. I think this is an excellent series

I liked it much better than Camelot, which tends to wander aimlessly and twist the legend beyond recognition.
