A northeast Nebraska woman has won more than $1 million betting pennies at the WinnaVegas casino in Sloan, Iowa.

The woman, whose name was not disclosed by the casino, won $1,156,226 playing a penny slot machine on Thursday, according to a statement from the casino.

“We see winners every day, but a prize this big is a whole other ballgame,” said Catherine Colsrud, casino manager.

The machine’s manufacturer, Bally Gaming, sent a team of technicians to the casino to verify the jackpot, Colsrud said.
