Prosser's web site asks for help "preserving a victory" despite the fact that he lost
After a challenging battle in which a historic number of votes were cast in a Supreme Court race, we need your help in preserving a victory for Justice David Prosser. The likely next step is a recount, requiring resources to protect the integrity of the ballots cast and deliver a win. Please take a moment to contribute, with your help a victory in this hard-fought battle is within reach!

http://www.justiceprosser.com/

Despite the fact that Prosser got less votes than Kloppenburg he is claiming a victory, apparently the Republicans want a justice on the bench who will disregard the basic foundation of our democracy and pretend the person with the least votes wins.

4. Maybe he has not officially lost, but he certainly has no basis for claiming victory
With 100% of the vote counted he has less votes than his opponent, he is within his legal rights to challenge that but when he claims victory he is straight up lying.

12. from this point forward it's all a PR campaign
if he doesn't claim it then it's all done. And we learned from Al Franken that you can come from behind to win these things.

2. A paranoid person might say that he's trying to get someone to
take out Kloppenburg, but I'm not paranoid so I wouldn't say that. Although I will say that just because your paranoid, that doesn't mean everyone is not out to get you.

13. Reminds me of that joke:
Question: what’s a three syllable word beginning with ‘P’ that means you think that everybody’s against you?

Answer: perceptive.

How else can anyone help him?

8. That's probably why FoxNews ran on its ticker all afternoon that he was ahead by 800 votes ...
so that the dumbass republican teabaggers would think he had won and then he could beg for money! LOL

Still some absentee votes to count and some provisionals. The head of Wisconsin's election says he expected counts to change as they verify votes. Verification begins tomorrow. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2011/04/unofficial-wis-results-show-challenger-leads-by-204-votes-in-high-court-race/1

11. Republicans never accept defeat....even when they lose
Edited on Wed Apr-06-11 09:08 PM by SoCalDem
There will be a recount, no doubt, and probably a court challenge, and as long as that is going on, he will probably retain his position.. He won't leave until all that is over, and it could take a while.. Look how long they dragged out the Franken/Coleman ordeal.

During the recount/court stuff, Fox will bang the drum for them, and by the time the winner takes office, she will be totally demonized..:grr:

This is how republicans operate.. they claim the default position on everything, and anytime a dem dares to win, the dem is the unworthy usurper, and the losing republican is a martyr who was picked on by the dem "establishment"...and the loser vows to fight on to right the wrong done to him/her..

14. thing is we shouldn't either - which was Kerry & Gore's biggest fault
Kerry didn't even give it a day til he gave up and I think he had a basis to fight for it in Ohio

How on earth do you "preserve a victory" when you lost? To quote one of Hnr Prosser's intellectual heroes..."Get over it"
