Good news from Ohio on SB 5 (Union Busting Bill)
In one location in Clintonville (Columbus) OH all of the signatures to meet the goal
for that location was achieved in a very short time. I stopped in after seeing a sign while driving
... in the 5 minutes I was there a steady stream of voters were signing up to start the repeal of SB 5.

3. From what I understand they need to get a sort of "down payment" of
1000 signatures to get the referendum started, that's what they are doing today. More details and petitions for elsewhere in the state will be forth coming.

5. I think the "down payment" goal was reached in no time
After some kind of legal stuff we then need to get either
230,000 or 260,000 voter's signatures in order to put
this on the November ballot .... I think that once it is
on the ballot SB 5 is put on hold until after the election.

8. If it gets to the November ballot I don't think it will win. After all

the vast majority of Americans don't belong to unions anymore. The vast majority of people that don't belong to a union work for far less than public workers and don't have health care or a pension. You have old people that say they worked for $5 an hour back in 1970 and they think you should be able to do it today. You have taxes in Ohio that among the highest in the US. I can name several schools and cities in this area that have been pushed to the brink of bankruptcy from public employee strikes. I just doubt it can be overturned at the ballot box. You talk to the average Joe here in Ohio and most have little sympathy for public employees, I hope I am wrong but that is the feeling I get.
