Just an update... more good news. I spoke to the Med Students at UTSW today

Most of you know the dark and twisted history of my seizures,brain surgery and recovery since 2006.

My doc who has followed me since he was a fellow wanted me to speak to med students interested in neurology,along with 2 other success stories.

we did today.
We all said we wouldn't be talking to them if services hadn't been provided by the best neuro staff in the nation to three very well-insured patients.

All three of us had been through hell and back.All three of us know this wasn't offered to all.

They saved a short film of me during my seizures,surgery and post-op course for last.

The doc asked me to speak.I encouraged the docs to all support universal health care...so that ALL their patients can be success stories.

My doc cried... tears of joy and pride.
the kids cried... tears of hope and committment.

There is hope,people.
Keep speaking out. They ARE listening.

3. Thank you... I was touched by the shared feeling of the other patients

regarding the need for universal healthcare... they both made similar statements about how they had lucked out... because of their good insurance.The med students really seemed to get the picture....in between bites of some really good Thai food!
