Poll question: Should DU3 Have A Separate Area Just for Polls?
Edited on Sun Mar-20-11 02:42 PM by MineralMan
This area might be selectable by DUers for inclusion in their view when browsing threads or hidden unless they choose to visit that area specifically. What do you think?

4. You need special glasses, so you can read what's behind the
lines. Red and blue lenses, of course.

7. Well, I hate polls. So I opted for the last option. Then unrec'd myself.

3. Add a feature to hide or not but more importantly...
a feature to hide a specific forum. One (or more) immediately comes to mind that many DUers have asked to hide for years.

5. Honestly, if there were a separate poll forum
I would rarely visit it.

13. Well, you might opt to hide polls from your browsing view
then. Personally, I think we should be able to select all the forums to appear in our browsing view. That would let each DUer customize DU to suit his or her interests when browsing. Polls would be one area I wouldn't choose to view, but might go to a polls section once a day to see if any of them interested me, and vote in those.

8. No, but I wouldn't be against the ability to see who voted for each choice
a pull down window as an option

something like that could be informative

I think polls that are on topic within the forum are appropriate.

9. I like having polls interspersed with topics
If you read a topic, you find only opinions from people who feel passionate and articulate enough to post on the subject, which might not necessarily reflect the majority opinions here. That will either cause posters to either reconsider their stand, or come up with better reasons to defend it, and thus educate the rest of us why they are right.

Polls are part of the learning process here at DU, and I don't feel they should be relegated to some sort of a back room.
