100's of Wisconsin protesters storm Washington lobbying firm BGR Group. (Video)

A Republican fundraising event gets an unwanted surprise: Boisterous solidarity for embattled public sector workers.

By Andrew Leonard

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker may have won the first round of his battle against public sector unions, but judging by the energy visible in this video, the war is a long way from over. On Wednesday, hundreds of protesters crashed a fundraising event for the Wisconsin Republican Party in Washington D.C. A Salon videographer caught the action.

My favorite part: an interview with two Wisconsin high school girls, one of whom flashes a bright smile through her braces as she proudly notes that she's already participated in "around 30" protests so far.

7. Cool! One nit to pick............
I'm sure there were more DC activists than Wisconsinites there though. Or maybe not.

I'd just like to see more coverage of the NATIONAL nature of these protests. Wisconsin showed us the way (and continues to do so), BUT just like this is a coordinated effort to bust unions all over the country, the people's response is national too.

We all support Wisconsin and Wisconsin supports us all.

10. I hear you. Some of these protesters were from DC organizations.
There were supposed to be at least 12 local branches of national org.s protesting this event; among them: MoveOn, Common Cause, Code Pink, teamsters, etc. Looks like it didn't grow to be as large as they had hoped!
