Live Presser - Japan PM BBC TV 12.30 AM PST
High Rad levels Temporary
Levels not high enough to be dangerous
Last Conference was very high but now getting lower
Fire at #4 Fukushima out
High Rad readiing caused by collapse of building but wil not persist
RAd no 500 microsiebert per hour
#4 now showing high levels but we expect not persistant
WAe have yet to assess damage
We do not know level of water in reactor but temp is not rising
Possible other cause of high rad level
Confirm constant input of water to reactor (#4) it may cause the rad leakage

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano tells reporters radiation levels at the Fukushima Daiichi complex have fallen dramatically to 596.4 microsieverts per hour. That level is almost 700 times less than the levels reported in the morning, after two fresh blasts at the complex.

4. more.....
So far no anomaly in temps at other plants.

<<Can't hear the fucking questions??!!>

Now have received many reports of rad readings - so cannot say for definite - depends on the 'experts' analysis

We don't know what kind of effects (on what???) It depends on expert analysis.

Reports coming from power co. Experts will analyse and then we will make action. Ok _ He's fluffing a bit here

We have to ask you to behave calmly - I cannot explain more. As Minister we have to wait for expert's report and then we make decision.

'scuse typing - sticky keys

Asked about #5 &#6 reactors (I thought we only had 4 to worry about!!). #5 & #6 hard to control water to them - temps are rising but at the moment they are getting water.

Currently I cannot directly access situation of rad material outside nuke plant...fluff, fluff

quake & tsunami caused major damage to Japan but infrastructure is there. We have to show we deal with this situation calmly.

For this situation (?) administration has to rely on several expert suggestion and also maybe parliament

No mike for those asking questions - so the answers are disembodied - bbc now left him to it - questions appear to be recycling - well, at least his answers are.
