I live about 13 miles from 3 nuke plants, and I would really appreciate it if
people would start buying CFL bulbs and otherwise conserving their use of electricity.

We have to get behind a clean technology, and actually clean technology, and develop the hell out of it in a very short period (5-10 years) and get it out there as fast as possible.

CFLs have mercury in them, you know?

Out of the fire and into the frying pan, right?

4. Baby steps sometimes - there is less mercury in a single CFL than
in the extra coal burnt to supply power to all the incandescents you'd have to burn over the lifetime of the CFL.

I'm rooting for LEDs, myself.

5. Yep, bought them, too.
Rarely use heating; never use dishwasher; cook little; my electricity bill is low.

6. They'd block out the sun if they could.
Making us pay for energy one way or another has got to be part of their goal.

7. The founding fathers would not have used a crazy, twisted bulb.
Thomas Paine would have published Common Sense in neon lights in the desert if he could have!

Why don't you love your country?
