We'll be leaving at 4:00 a.m. as it takes nearly six hours to drive to Madison from southern Illinois. Just read that, in addition to the planned tractorcade, the AFL-CIO rally and the return of the Wisconsin 14, some bused-in baggers and Andrew Breitbart himself are going to grace us with their presence. I'm afraid we've seen this movie before.

IF there is any news coverage of the rally, it will imply equal numbers of union and non-union participants. Any video shown on TV will center on the angriest and scruffiest pro-union participants and the most reasonable looking and well-behaved baggers. And, if they can't bait anyone into a violent or profane reaction, they'll simply do what they always do: they'll make things up and show canned protest footage to "prove" their point that we're all just union thugs and commies.

It's enough to make one nauseous.

I wonder---??? Is there any "bounty" for barfing on Breitbart?

1. Oh HELL YEAH!
SCREW Breitbart, he's not gonna turn me (or anyone else) around.

Only some demented teabagger would dare to show up tomorrow. If a few do, meh, so what? they will be greatly outnumbered.

2. Yes because if each one of those 150,000 people
spreads to word of the protests to 2 other people and they spread it to 2 more people and so on and so on, soon many more the 150,000 people are involved. Thats how true grass root causes get started.

3. Tsunami coverage will overshadow Wisconsin protests...
It's unfortunate, but that is what is likely to happen.

5. Oh noes, the corporate controlled media won't cover people challenging corporations
Everyone, go home and consume and obey. Turns out those in power won't help us take their power, so might as well not even try.

6. My wife got her hair cut today. The beautician has never been
one to talk about politics. She's full of gossip, but it's usually movie star crap. Today, she was all about Walker. She says it's all anybody talks about. She says she's had two people crying about it while getting hair done. My point is that people are paying attention. People who normally couldn't be bothered. TV isn't what it used to be. It's fine if it's there, but we have other ways to push the message.

7. to answer your question,
YES, just as it's been happening for the past 3 1/2 weeks!

We've had the baggers with Breitbart before, and yes, the tv coverage is shit, but at least it consistently lives down to our expectations!

Look for me - I'll be the one wearing a jacket and carrying a sign!

8. Godspeed, Atticus
I know that route well having lived in Chicago and Wisconsin in the 80's. If you had given me more notice, I would have packed some sandwiches, nice snacks and hot drinks for you to pass the journey.

:hi:

Oh wait, there will be PIZZA waiting for you at the other end.

9. Ask the 150,000 people while you're there
"Is this really happening?" If they say "Yes", then it probably is.

I think we all know by now that the traditional media is a propaganda tool. It's time to accept that and deal with it. Or you can just give up and go home, no use trying, let's just all be corporate slaves the rest of our lives because that's what the TV said to do.

They are watching. They won't be showing it, but they're watching. If no one shows up, they will take it as a sign that they've won.

Also, imagine the networking possibilities, the talks and the ideas and the contacts that could be shared. I know from Twitter that the IWW and an immigrant worker's union will be there to share information on and discuss a general strike. I can't imagine they're the only ones planning on educating, on talking, on getting knowledge out there.

Imagine the feeling of solidarity and empowerment.

Imagine all the tweets and videos and pictures going out on the web. Spreading the ideas. Spreading that feeling of solidarity and empowerment.

Traditional media is state propaganda. It's on the side of the enemy. We can't depend on it for anything. Learn how to use the internet. Or go home and watch American Idol. Your choice.

And yes, that all sounds harsh, but I want to say thank you for going and that you're awesome for going. :)

10. TV Coverage should not be the gage. The Revolution will occur
and it will not be on TV. All that matters is that
groups stick together, work for some common goals,
make your movement grow. The World wakes up one
morning to find you have taken over. You can get
more accomplished quickly "underground and out of sight
of cameras". The Revolution will happen and it will
have been missed by TV.

11. television news has become irrelevant for the most part
it's like Mubarak's state-controlled media.

the revolution will, still, not be televised - but you can catch it on the internet - which is where most people are now anyway.
